From around 70 to 300, best if the lens has a constant aperture of f/2.8.

:bsmilie: You could have bought 2nd hand 70-200mm f/2.8 L.

I don't recall any 70-300mm f/2.8 from Tamron. The closest match is 70-200mm f/2.8 or 70-300mm f/4 - f/5.6.

Reviews and test pics seems sharp. Haha!

Not really one if you're gonna stick with cropped bodies. :)

I dun think I'll be sticking to cropped bodies. Down the road, I will upgrade because I intend to go far for photography. Learning the ropes now and as I'm reading my BFA, I would love to go into fine art photography one day.

Or follow like others to go on installment plan. :sweatsm:

Nah. That's not the way to go for me. My mum dun like it also. I wanted an installment plan for my 450D kit, she nearly scream my ear off. In the end, everything was good because I dunnit to pay a cent, she also dunnit to pay a cent. The 450D kit is my 2008 Xmas gift from her friend. ;p

care to explain in details with image to show?

i 4got if i was using manual focus liao. could be i miss focus.
hmm...i think i have to take my cam out in the daylight and shoot with a 1/250 shutter with auto focus. any idea what to shoot so i can determine the sharpness easily?

The best way to determine whether it is sharp or not is through looking at the picture with your own pair of eyes.

The definition for sharp varies between individuals. That said, if your eyes tells you that its not sharp, then its not. Of course that's provided that everything is done in proper. :)

best way is to set ur camera on something solid like a tripod, then shoot something. i think most prob wat happen was u AF lock liao then b4 u press u moved again, so the focused point end up become blur. for lens tests its always more objective if its done on a tripod with a shutter release (or better still with mirror lock up).
