Join the dark side? :bsmilie:

I am already on the dark side, the white side and many other sides. Just that my big lenses are white and quite costly to change. :dunno:

Well they did increase the 5dmk3 price by another 1k..I bet they are going to pump it in too the 7dmk2..I bet it's going to be like 2.9k retail

I would even put the launch price on the other side of 3K!

I bought the 7D classic during the first week after launch.

I paid 2.7k for it then. Tears come to my eyes when I see 2nd hand models selling for about one third of that price! LOL!

Sounds like you're a jack of all trades! Hope you stay with the heavenly side!

I am definitely master of none, not even sure if I can even be jack of all trades. My only claim is a competent point and shoot camera user. :embrass:

then you should not spend any more on 7d2, try s8400w 24-1056mm zoom range enough from wide to your supertele needs, it will cost around sgd500-600, not to mention the weight and size convenient :bsmilie:

Thanks for your suggestion.

Your suggestion is good but I will have problem pretending to be a real bird photographer. :dunno:

Looks like the 7D Mark II will not make it to market in 2013 according to CR. There may be an announcement in 2013, followed by a launch in 2014.

Here's hoping that they are staking more time to build a much improved sensor that will exceed the Sony based sensors in Nikon and Sony.

Interesting, what type of business strategy is this?

Gotta be kidding me

You all make it sound like Canon made an announcement on the camera and they retracted the announcement.

woah... that 61 point af.... that price. I would gladly take this over a 5dmk3 for the price. I just hope this can handle high iso

The kind that does not take unfounded rumours too seriously and concentrate on their roadmap, instead of letting a few noise makers dictate their road map. Sounds like a very legit and reasonable business strategy.

A successful business strategy has to consider market conditions and customer expectations. If the company just focus on its own internal requirements and constraints then it will lose market share.

But the supposed launch/specs and now the supposed delays are just rumors.

CR has been known to be accurate, but they have also been known to be way off-base too.

Agree, Canon has to deliver the goods.

Actually I would rather Canon took the time and come up with something great instead of coming out with half baked products just that they have something that they can launch in the market.

Anyway, until now the 7DmkII is just rumours, Canon said that it is on the way, but they never really admit that there is this camera in the pipeline. For all we know, Canon might not even want to launch something like a 7DmkII and focus on the 70D. Or 70D was actually 7DmkII.

And Canon seemed to like to help me save my wallet :)

Doesn't help them when false expectations are set by rumour mongers.

Yes, false expectations doesn't help them but Canon have to meet real customer expectations.
