Canon 7D. Home run? Disappointment?

Probably not, but if the 7D's AF works well as in most of the reviews so far, the keeper rates should be better than the 40D/50D for action and sports scenes. And of coz the Full HD video recording is something the 40D/50D can never do.

This time round Canon seems to edge ahead on the high ISO performance race. And on a 18MP vs 12MP camera... amazing.

Just a matter of Canon's timing - Release long overdue 5D2 (FF higher price) so now it's 7D (1.6x lower price). Maybe next year will be the year of 1D4 (1.3x higher price) and a cheaper FF cam?

There is a rumour about 3D which is a FF 7D coming out next year. However, the price point seems to be somewhat higher than the current 5D mk II. That's why I am not really looking forward to 3D (or FF 7D) with that price point.
