Chanced upon a blog where the user is using a prototype/pre-production 7D. The videos look impressive. You guys should check it out.

kinda of disappointed...due to the earlier launch of 5dm2 , Buying of 5D is a good catch for user XXD and XXXD, in term of first hand and 2nd hand..
right now the launch of 7D kinda abit... slow and its not FF plus its still a 1.6x crop.. what will those new buyer of 5D/50D users do
selling off to get 7d? or upgrade 2nd time to 5dm2?
kinda of a missing steps haha
maybe canon got to think of the better strategy on launching camera

Think:think:,the winner are the manufacture,only user are enjoy upgrade non stop.
manufacture continue improve in features for user to spend money on those feature.
money go to the manufacture, important user need to understand what is good enough for them.
But most of the time, Images is images,Do other ? which cam is capture that shot?:dunno:
Better equipment feature help for those trully understand the enhance feature serve them?

It's only natural that new cameras get launched one after another (occasionally 2 at a time). Each new model will bring new features. Even after you buy the latest and greatest, there will always be new models in future. So just buy what you need to take your photos.

Hmmmm....I see the prices floating about 1699 for body and 1890 for the kit 28-135 i think?
It's in US currency right? That translate to ~2.5k SGD.
I read at DPreview that it has environmental sealing. Wonder if it is the same quality as those in the higher ranges?

so that maybe can milk upgraders from 5d/ 5d mark II :angel:
I think the 5D Mk2 being 21MP and FF has its benefits even for video but let us not forget that the 7D has better video modes (24p etc).
Thus, I think 7D has the upperhand at the moment.

Yeah! the 7D is good news to me. I've been wishing for a d300 equivalent for birding. I just hope that the 7D's AF is not that far off from the 1D.
The 7D is not going to replace my 5D. It's not meant to be. They're different tools for different uses.
Want a "cheap" FF? get a 5D.
expecting a cheaper successor to the 50D? - wait longer. I'm guessing it'll eventually appear with the same 9 AF point layoput and 1 digic processor.

This is definitely disappointment.i wonder if launch price btw countries can varies so much.5.5k can buy a 5d2 kit set alr.

Definitely, but camera's prices defer in diff countries, Sweden Uses Swedish kronars, not sure whats the exchange rate tho
Since,it will be using the same battery as 5D MKII.
May time now for 7D owner consider stock up the battery first.
Sure another wave of shortage of for spare battery soon.
just like launch of 5D MKII season. shortage of battery.

If image need extra reach.sharing same battery and memory card Same as CF card.
Canon really know how to milking from their customer.

Actually Canon didn't intend to design the 7D, it was accidental: you see, a 50D walked up to a 1Dmk3 sitting at a bar one day and said "What's a fine body like you doing in a dump like this?" One thing led to another and wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am, 9 months later we have a 7D...
