Canon 7D. Home run? Disappointment?

I felt overall 7D is a good improvement and also is a next step for Canon to development next genation camera body base on the bench mark from 7D.
So may be 60D will have some function or features from 7D but I don't think 60D will have more improvement than 7D, if not canon will kill 7D sale.
As canon had ranked 7D is one level up compare to 50D.
So 60D will have HD video recording and improve ISO, Noise, More Pixel (I think), some chips as 7D.. Weather sealed I dont think will be in 60D....

For XXXXD and XXXD user will be a 2 level upgrade.
As for XXD user is one level upgrade, but 50D user may not want to upgrade now since 50D is still quite new and ma not require the 8fps.
But for the weather sealed and other features that is really tempting for 50D to upgrade. But for those who not willing to upgrade now may be shall wait for 7Ds.

As for myself a 50D user... is really tempting to upgrade to 7D.
Reason is I wanted the weather sealed, 8fps and other features. cos I always wanted a 1Ds (without S) Mark III body....Now I kanna BBB..... But I still want to see more detail review interm on the ISO and Noise.

But for the 19 cross-type AF points, Is not really new for Canon, bcos 1D MKIII already.
So I felt this features will not be a problem...
As what I had mentioned will be the dual DIGIC 4 processors... what this chips can do....

5D mark 2 you mean, 5D's sensor is only 12.8 MP

That aside, 7D's the best out of the canon cameras in the graph. Hmm... and beats ND90 at extreme ISO.

I agree IQ is more than just DR, and I'm sure photography doesn't rest on IQ alone. With a good AF (assuming) system, high FPS and weather proofing, this baby can capture much more precious moments in situations were the D90 cannot.

Yep, that's the only thing I care about from the 7D. If its AF and FPS are on similar footing as the now ancient 1Dm2, then it's a done deal for me!

It'll even be sweeter if it would make it before the SGP, but that's really asking for too much :bsmilie:

May I question the source of this chart? lolx... Anyway I think nikon sensors have better headroom DR than Canon.

Actually with hindsight, 50d to me seems like a redundant model. Neither here nor there. Actually so is 5DII. How can the infamous 2nd gen 5D not incorporate the great features of 7D? At least a slightly better AF design? No doubt IQ is damn good...

With Canon coming out with such a hi-specs 7D, I think 1dmkiv will be a FF.. just like d3...

Need to purchase the External harddisc first , before purchase the cam.
Need to purchase a UDMA CF card min 16G or 32G from comex.
it around the corner. it may has chance, the 7D may appearce in the comex show.
