Same tot here... Both are F4... I rather invest on 24-70 F2.8 USM II... As for the time being no stock for the price I expecting on 24-70 Mark 2... And the same price to the Body of 6D... Lol I will go for 6D body then...

Yes, and slightly lighter too. Macro is good for me because I like camera to have some macro capability when I travel.

Even for really close portrait its useful .. bringing new opportunities. But price difference is huge... Depending on how they improved image quality (which is not amazing on the 24-105).

I was rather shocked by the price difference too. It's almost counter-intuition. One L zoom lens with limited range and same aperture costs several hundred dollars more than another equivalent L zoom lens with longer range. Sigh...

The price is shocking, the weight reduction and 0.7x magnification aren't enough to justify it. It really needs to have an improved IQ.

It's definitely smarter to do it that way.

The prices quoted by Snapdiner are credible. Lower than well known stores, but not by much. Of course, with new releases, stores may jack up prices a little and this accounts for the slight differences (hint: about $100).

Canon really priced the 6D VERY close to D600. If you find the prices quoted to you too high, it only means you are knocking on the wrong shop door. :bsmilie:
