I think the wifi is useful coz you can control the 6D from your iphone/ android. Don't have to buy a remote control just to take slow speed photos (or B mode).

GPS is illegal in Mainland China. Canon can't sell it there officially. GPS and WiFi share the same module most probably so Canon simply left both out for the Chinese model.
