No point... after 5D mk3, you will say that 1DX has the best features.....
Then you see 650D got sivel LCD, Touch screen, AF HD recording.....
Later, discover 650D too plastic, FPS not as fast as 7D....
Want to buy 7D, too old model.... wait for 7D mk2.....
7D mk2 delay.... regret, buy 60D..... then see got Full frame....
Then feel like changing to 6D...etc
:dunno::think::sticktong:bigeyes: :hung:
Get what you need and afford. Yes 5D3 is expensive now but there is no other.
Tons of feature but many a time ones only use less than 50% of the camera.
As long it take the picture you like with your skill, any camera is a good camera.

I have 60D....Buying a new 6D is like upgrading from Iphone 4S to Iphone 5...;)

Meaning no difference? :)

Well, low fps did not bother 5D2 shooters, so I cannot see why it should bother anyone using the 6D. Besides, the D600 is only 1 fps faster and also has a 1/4000 shutter limitation.

What really disappointed most people, and rightly pointed out by DPReview, is the fact there is ONLY 1 cross AF point. Even the lowly, entry level 650D gets a 9 cross AF-point sensor. Sigh....

However, given Ralph's enthusiastic response about the AF accuracy of the center point, I am now even more certain I shall replace my 5D3 with the 6D.

When I shoot DSLR (I have a good 450D), i always shoot and re-compose. I like the 450D weight and thinking back, why did I ever shoot with the 1Dmk2 years back. DSLR is a luxury with AF and FPS and tele capabilities vs the rangefinder. But I like the rangefinder.

Lol damn right..maybe even more problems like what's going on in the news..Haha

Interesting read.

I guess that article further proves that Canon's line of products are strongly segmented. That's what Canon wants to tell us:

Want a cheap DSLR? 1100D
Want a better cheap DSLR, maybe with articulated screen? 650D or 60D
Want a cheap FF? 6D
Want a cheap high FPS action camera? 7D
Want a FF better than 6D? 5D3
Want a better high FPS action camera than 7D? 1D3/1D4
Want a FF AND high FPS action camera? 1DX

Yes and Mike Owen confirms the experience of Ron Conway's hand's on experience with the AF system of the 6D. Mike reveals that low light sensitivity was prioritized in the development of the 6D.

Ron was able to achieve consistent focus with the 6D on objects that the 5D Mark II was unable.

According to the article, the X point is able to AF at -3EV. Even the 1DX is only -2EV ;)

Is it actually a very useful feature to be able to AF under twilight conditions? I don't recall the last time I missed a shot because the lighting was too poor to AF.

Seems to be what i need to take pic of my kid.
Wonder when will my 40D die..................

Giving some features not found in another camera is to make you buy more.
MOE have stop banding of the schools.
Like MOE said all schools are the same.
It's up to the student themselves to excel in their studies.

Isn't it similar here.

Never the camera.... It's the photographer.

if we look at 6D as a more specialized camera , rather than multi-purposed-all-rounder machine, we will see that it actually takes away distractions (overkill features) from the photographer, and allow the photographer to focus on what he/she does best. that being said, those who choose 6D, will fit into its features like a hand into a glove.

just like choosing a degree program in university... i guess we can't really find a degree that allows us to master medical, media and business studies all at once.

to me, from specs alone, 6D should work awesome as a back up camera for events, travel kit, and studio works...

unless the camera itself doesn't live up to the spec sheets.. then that's a different story altogether.

Thanks for posting this up. Answered questions on a number of key features I was hoping to see. So he confirms that lack of a tilt-swivel is due to mainly durability and to some extend, the weight. I would interpret this as Canon rating different levels of durability/weather-sealing according to the class. 1D series having the highest durability, followed by the 5D series and so on. So apparently Canon's level of durability/weather-sealing for tilt-swivel screens are up to xxD requirements but could not yet meet their xD standards. I had the impression from the lack of buttons on the left edge of the 6D LCD was possibly due to provision for tilt-swivel screen in early design stage but never made it in the end. Hopefully, this gets resolved when 6D Mk2 comes around and makes a stronger case for Canon to even consider including it then for those of us who hopes to see a tilt-swivel screen on a Canon FF.

On a personal level, I'm not keen in seeing an articulated screen on a XD series body.

Design wise, as of current design technology it will definitely compromise durability and weather sealing. I can't imagine the pros who bring their XD cameras out to the field and one bad and hard knock could just break the screen off the camera.

Personally, I find hardly any use of the articulated screen for me. Yes it does help to shoot certain angles.. but you'll have to use LV.. which you lose certain functions compared to using VF.

I would rather Canon design a better Angle Finder. Instead of being able to rotate towards the left and right while mounted on the VF, maybe make it able to pull back would be a sweet feather and improve on the flexibility of the Angle Finder.

Hey, pros should use 5Ds and 1Ds, leave the 6Ds for the enthusiasts! ;)
Tilt-swivel does not appeal to all but the option is there to use it or keep it like a conventional LCD screen. However, I believe tilt-swivel would be extremely useful not just at awkward/some impossible angles but when paired on a tripod. You don't have to bend over continuously if its low and it makes framing at above head level possible, esp preferable when the VF is not 100%. Until Wi-Fi remote via mobile app with LV takes off which would then be really sweet.

An articulated viewfinder is super useful for video when u hv the camera mounted on a tripod or monopod n raise it above heads to film. also useful for those yamseng n tossing yusheng shots n taking pics from ground up. i m keepg my 60D bcos of the above uses.
