i would actually say the 60d is pretty much on par with the d7000....

anyone notice the price of 60D is out on Canon's web?
Yup Agreed! I prefer a lighter weight and now my 500D kinda outgrown me already since i yearn for more customizable functions and quick short cuts to the settings. Not to mention the articulating screen helps me take low angle shots easier. Btw is the focusing speed in live view improved? its really slow on my current body..
I agree, all that I’ve read so far says that the D7000 has *almost* the same ISO performance as the Fullframe D700. Which is ahead of 12.3 APS-C cameras like the D300s.I bet you the Nikon D7000 will easily rival the Canon 1D4 in high ISO performance. Wanna wait for samples?
Then, all those pixelpeepers will really stop b***hing about high pixel density sensors.
Wow, what is the way you’re looking at it? That both cameras seem on par?i would actually say the 60d is pretty much on par with the d7000....

Canon Singapore has updated the 60D into their website, the price of the body is $1599 but I cant find the release date? Anyone has any idea when is it?
Any possibility that the actual selling price of the 60D body be around $1.2k??

I don't think any release date has been published, but I've asked a Canon representative and he told me that it will be released sometime in September (although he could not give me a specific date.... he didn't know). Release dates will vary from country to country.
Just called MScolor and was told that the 60D will be available in 2 days. S$1619 with 18-55 IS, 8gig SD plus bag.

Hi, Yip, Nikon D7000 has a high learning curve, while 60D is simpler.
thats fast... body only?.. 1.5k?
1599 for D60 is quite expensive, I think there definitly some people will jump to Nikon because of D7000. The specs are so attractive.
The newly added future of 60D is not expressive at all, I mean especially for those people who has used DSLR before.
NOw, waiting for the price of D7000, i think it will be bewteen 1700-2000.
Using the same discount rate, the body price shud be around S$ 1439.
Once 2nd hand market is seen with the 60D, at around 1200.. i will be one of the first to grab it =D
Yes, I agree that there will be some that will jump ship because of the higher specs of the D7000.... but in end I believe that they will lose out. When Canon comes back with a higher spec camera, will they jump ship again???? When will it end???
Glass is more important than the body. When jumping ship, most are likely going to sell their glass at a loss to finance their new system. Over time, that can add up and become a very expensive habit. IMHO, it's best to stay with one system and be the best photographer you can be with the equipment you find in your hands.![]()
