Hi all,

Yesterday I start to try using my 450D, find out that in live view can not auto focus. Is this true? Got to use manual focus ... I'm using 17-55 ... I got to manual and read but can not find anything about this. .. Will like to know is it you all have the same issue?

But den if the body is going to last a long time or u feel that 450D is going to outgrown u.

It outgrowing you....... you don't have to change anything 'cept to make yourself better..... to match the camera's capabilities.

Picked up my 450D last week from AP. (Had help from a very helpful friend in reserving this unit for me.... Thanks!)
Paired this up with a Sigma 18-200 DC and took a few shots at Food&Hotel Asia last week. The shots were crisp and clear!!! Nothing to complain ;)
But I had some problems with close up shots of the Food products! Can only say that it must be down to my poor skills and perhaps lack of a Flash kit?
Nonetheless, 450D .... well worth my wait! Chose this ahead of 40D cos .... I'm not good enough to tell the difference. My comments ..... at first sight!

I bought a 40D kit I today... after agony of deciding which to get, whether a 40D or a 450D... but i like the solid feel of 40D... but I must still say that 450D is value for money

i bought 40D with 18-55mm lens (kit I)... intend to get 55-250mm when budget permits... my first dSLR, now learning the skills and having fun at the same time :)

Hello,

I just bought the 450 and I chose the 450D above the 40D because it is lighter.

A month ago I would have chosen the 40D above the 400D because of the viewfinder; but it has improved on the 450D so I saved S$350 and 500g that can be used for a lense.

I had been waiting to replace the 300D, and lately the 300D was staying in its dry cabinet, but I just came back from Japan and I am not too happy with the quality of the pictures I took with the Ixus... so I will be back to a proper Reflex for nice pictures.

Thanks and nice picture. Is it just me or is it a bit soft?

huh.. i thought they are using a higher capapcity battery for 450D? is it because the users have liveview permanently on?
I dunno I heard it from the camera shop at AMK hub 2nd lvl i think. That's what he told me maybe he's trying to rid of his 400D stock and they are giving free battery grips for 400D so i think that they are trying to rid of the stocks :) haha so i think i will still get my 450D but at the end of the year. Busy studying now :) nov. or dec when the promotions start coming in and when the IT fair is over. Prices drop more free stuff :)

450D photo quantity taken on ur stock batt is only ard 600 as compared with 40D 1100

Actually the real life test spec for 450D is only 300-400 while 40D around 600 and more

You may be shooting too close to the subjects. There is a minimal shooting distance for all lenses, and if you are used to a compact camera you will find this distance rather big for SLRs. For example, you can almost press the lens of a S2IS onto a subject and still get a clear shot, but you cannot do that for your sigma lens.

Just now went to Vivo and test out the SLRs again... this time the 400D is gone from the demo and finally the demo 450D is on full batt.

I realise that my hand are tiny......... I can barely hold the 40D properly. After 10 mins on the 40D, my hand feel so tired grabbing the camera only to prevent it from slipping it off my hand. I realise 450D can fit my last 3 finger including my pinky. The shutter sound and feeling also way different from 400D.

I find the 400D shutter very loud

YEah I think the 40D has the quietest shutter among the the DSLRs that are not part of the one series currently?

Yea it a lot louder den 450D. Viewfinder on 450D is a lot tiring den of 40D. Me wearing spec.

Hmm.. can viewing the viewfinder on the 450D with spectacles on be tiring? Havent actually used an SLR for a prolonged period, perhaps someone cares to explain?
