The feel and sturdiness of the cam in general. This applies for me but may vary from person to person. Cos i've tried the 20D and 30D too.

Hi Snoweagle,

I assume a 2nd hand 10D? Is this still available in the market first hand?
I'm really worried about buying 2nd hand, warranty issues...

The 10D is a february 2003 DSLR. In the market now i doubt u can still find a first hand one. Yes i got this at 2nd hand so don't expect anymore warranty for a 2nd-hand 10D. I paid $1k for this.

A BRAND new 10D can be found at TCW, seems to be no takers for this set...
pricewise unknown, if anyone is intrested.

the shutter lifespan of 300D is a stipulated 50k..does anyone know what it is for the 10D?

The question is "So in terms of value and benefits, would you upgrade from a 10D to the 30D?"

I know there're some 10Ds at TCW and one going for $1280 body only....but seems like all are 2nd hand.

No more 10D on sale at TCW liao. They have managed to clear them before the 30D hit the shore.

Most of their 10Ds 2nd hand sets were also sold prior to the release of the 30D. Heard that most of the time, the buyers are from overseas.

No more, now they are selling 2nd hand 20D. Saw a few sets on sale, price range <$1,590. The launched of the 30D has greatly impacted the brand new price & resale price of 20D.

Brand new 20D body ~ $1,800 at TCW

Brand new 20 body ~ $1,899 at CP

10D is a good cam. the built is sturdy, the weight is just nice for those with bigger palm/hand and like what has been said abt the silent mirror slap / shutter sound.

raw shooter might be slowed down if shooting in continous mode due to the buffer size but as long as u dont shoot that way, it should not be a prob.

So er gotten ur 'new cam' liao? ;)

10D has slow start-up. Slow file write time. Tiny buffer. "Only" 6 megapixels. noisy at ISO 800 and above. BUT...I still love my 10D.
