Nope...only S$120 at list price. Its the teleconverter that cost more. I'm lookin for a good bundle price.

hope to get a macro filter as well... the 120 one, its listed in sonystyle.com.sg

in addition, also the new version of the teleconvertor, btw wats the diff between the new black & the old silver version?

anybody got lobang for such MO?

Seriously. Why would you want to pay $120 when you can get a Hoya for so much lesser? I don't think even the B+W cost that much.

Filters are different from macro lens. I've got a hoya +4. Hardly any difference when I place it on my 828 lens, which already has some macro function. Hence, I may need the macro lens which cost about $350 in the market.

You are using full optical zoom with the +4 filter and there is no different from using camera macro function without the filter ? (excluding digital zoom)

Which was why I kept asking users on their experience with the sony macro. My hoya +4 makes little difference. Maybe its the magnification factor. Wonder does the Sony macro has more?

I onced asked about how close-up filters work. skyflash gave a an insight. Maybe his reply is applicable to your question.

Thanks for the clarification guys.

On the technical side. If I have a minimum 10 cm distance for macro. How many cm did I just reduce by using a +4 close up filter?

I just bought a set of Hoya filters that come in +1, +3 and +4. Can I stack them one infront of another to get closer?

Not exactly the same. When u using macro mode, there are some switch in the lens, to allow you to magnify by getting nearer to the subject. When you are using a close-up, you will be using mainly your telescopic zoom. So, u need to know wat's the minimum focusing distance without turining on ur macro.

I was trying out with close-up together macro mode. i dont get as much for maximum magnification. and, the worst part is that i have reduced my working distance from 20cm or so .. to about 5-10cm from the subject. I was testing with DiMAGE 7i (ie. 200mm zoom) and Canon 250D.

Usually, we would not stack more than 2. If stacked, the one with the larger number will be nearer to the original len.

The macro lens does not make the picture bigger.. it just enables the user to stand further away and zoom into the object to get a focus which you cant do without it..

in other words, instead of sticking the 828 up the butterfly's arse to take a close up shot, you can position the lens 16inches away, and zoom into the object as if you were 2cm away and still focus.

Thanks for the info!

the hoya closeup filter +x was like u need to get up close & personal with the object. the pics that kjmedora really impress me. i wonder if its the effect of the teleconvertor or the closeup filter, btw, how much in total did you get the 2 items for kjmedora?

i do not know how wats the +factor for the sony closeup filter, any idea?

So most of them like close up shots. Than why not at around 1 day to shares the trips and get around about your F828 Good or Bad with 300D or D70

If u ask me, I will say F828 is much better. I have taken 300D and D70. They still good, but only when capturing fast image in a times, F828 adjusting is much better than other's

So, it is confirm Sony converters can fix on F828.

Maybe, I will bring down my F828 and try out the SONY converters at the Sony Galleries.

Only the 58mm converters can fit onto the 828.. dont be mislead by the SONY website that can be confusing at times as it also shows HANDYCAM converters...

Why dont we meet up for a AH butterfly session on saturday morning....... then we can discuss anything and everything...

sounds good????? PM if interested.. cos i am going down this saturday....

BTW, SONY Gallaries are expensive... try to get dicounts at other places like CP....
