The MET building is definitely worth a visit. It's FOC and on a clear day you can see Mt Fuji from Tokyo clearly. It kinda reminds me of KLCC.For those who are going to Tokyo, you may want to consider staying at Sun Members Tokyo Shinjuku. It's a small 2-star hotel just behind the Tokyo Metropolitan building (there's an observatory in that building with a good view of the city, haven't been there myself though)
My shifu just went and came back, according to him nothing much. They can only go to area outside 80km of Fukushima and most places are quite empty (hotels etc).
Japanese are usually very cautious so if the food have problem, they will just destroy everything... so can be quite assured imo.
It's not the direct radiation, rather, it's what they are hiding in terms of contaminated food etc.I think Hokkaido should be quite safe from most of the radiation etc? They're quite far from Fukushima.
Ok guys, i need some help here
Say i got 9 days to spend in this country, and the main places im thinking of going is Tokyo, Osaka and kyoto(2 days), disney land and disney sea 1 day...and maybe in tokyo city 2-3 days...which leave me balance 3 days...may i know where along the outskirt of tokyo can i go? any recommendations? I heard abt nara and kobe....is it necessary to stay there if i travel there? Might drop mount fuji as i heard its not easy to go there plus decemember might be snowing...

only 2 days in Osaka and Kyoto? might not be worth the money just for the 2 days. I suggest you might want to concentrate on just Tokyo and the surrounding for the 9 days... something like the example below:
1 days in Tokyo (acustom yourself to Japan)
1 day/2 days, day trip to Nikko
2 days in Yokohama, with side trips to Kamakura, Enoshima
2 days in Hakone/Lake Kawaguchi
2 days in Tokyo again
To get to Mt Fuji, easiest and less stressful is by bus from Shinjuku, the bus takes you to Lake Kawaguchiko station and from there, there are buses up Mt. Fuji (provided the weather is good (chances in winter is less than other seasons) and if they allow traffic up). Also the reason why I recommend 2 days (increase your chances to go up, while staying around Mt Fuji) and if you are staying in Hakone, you also need to take a bus to Kawaguchiko for the bus up (take note of the bus schedule during winter)
Also suggest to do the trip in your own pace, it is less taxing and stressful, plus you are more likely to enjoy yourself if you take your time to explore the place abit, instead of a touch and go trip (that is also why I suggest dropping Osaka/Kyoto)
On a personal preference, I prefer a slow and relaxing trip especially in Japan. You can spend some time sipping coffee/tea while enjoying the surrounding in the morningwatching the local rushing to work.
But do take note to prepare yourself for winter and take in consideration of the extra baggage (your winter clothing can take up alot of space)
