Come on....its a once in a lifetime event. If you're not particular about the quality of the images, might as well ask your friends to use digicams to shoot for you.

一分钱, 一分货,
拍得好, 一次过,
拍不好, 谁的错?

Hey all, even if you think the price offered is way too low, there is no need to so sarcastic.

not sarcastic what, quite in your face comments

$200 for 6 hrs = $33 per hour
service only looks ok for students

Prints cost money
Albums cost money
Post processing cost time and electricity which cost money
transportation cost money

no makan nevermind, photographer has no right to demand

i forgot to add

CD also cost money

I think some comments were sarcastic.

Anyway, to bride2be, you have to consider raising your budget if the price includes prints andd albums. $200 won't get you far. You're better off asking a friend to help out.

Yup I'd have to agree, have some class. If you guys are professionals, act like one and discuss prices or options with the threadstarter or don't reply at all. When someone posts something like this they are asking for help, not sarcasm.

Threadstarter, I agree your asking price is a bit low but I'm sure you can get desired results from amateurs or professionals still looking to fill their portfolios or build a reputation.

Everyone starts somewhere and there was a day when a hobbyist or person with interest turned amateur, then turned pro, did not know their aperture from their ass.

Is it so hard to be nice?

Haven't seen the poster reply...guess in my mind should be...:dunno:

if one day a bird poop on you, can just smile and say bad luck

but if everyday a different bird poop on you then you must have a reputation to be a good place to poop on.

So...., what needs to be done is to change that reputation and educate the birds that this is NOT a good place to poop.

since everyone agrees that the price is too low, it is now a fact.
and that fact is an insult to the photographers.

No harm intended to the TS, just letting off steam

you might be wondering about the negative replies now. end of the day, it boils down to how much respect you have for the person who is going to cover such an important event for you. look at ortega's breakdown, it's good reality check imo.

it's not impossible to get everything done with $200. if you are talking about a red packet for a good friend/relative who is a photographer and willing to do this for you out of friendship/family ties, everything's fine.

if you're talking about engaging professional photographer with credible track record and portfolio, your budget is quite an insult. unless you do not mind engaging less experienced/fresh photographers.

AFAIK, snowspeeder and myself are full time photographers, aka professional posted in this thread, I don't think our replies to bride2be are being sarcastic.

Please re-read our replies again.
