Billingham Hadley Pro review

anyone care to share how much they got their hadley pro from chan's? anyway to nego with him? cos the $380 tag seems a little steep..

You can check in Gmarket for Hadley Pro.
I believed you can buy for around $280 from a seller in Korea.
Buy at your own risk though...

Risky? D:

Thinking of getting one from there...

I bought mine from Gmarket. I've asked the seller about the authenticity of the bag and he has assured me that if I find mine a fake, he will refund me fully including shipping.

Just wondering how can you find out if it's a fake if it's a Class Triple A counterfeit? Hmm... :bsmilie:

Saw that the bag was available in gmarket too. How was the quality?

I got the hadley pro... Not the large version
Quite surprise i got so many things to fit into this relative small bag:

1) x pro 1 with 18-55 lens and the 35mm
2) rx1 with the evf detached
3) tag heuer sunglasses protected with hardcase
4) nexus 7 tablet
5) spare batt for xp1 and rx1 at left front pocket
6) joby small tripod and right pocket

Front right pocket still have space for lens cleaning pen and hard case to store 6 sd cards

Correction...my bag is not Hadley pro is actually hadley small

Just bought my Hadley Pro from another CSer. Really surprised at the amount of stuff it can hold.

Thinking whether to get the SP40 for the strap

Looking at d Pro loading, you should really get d pad, be nice to your shoulders...

I prefer wo the pad. It's easier to cross sling!

At the moment, I have a K5 + DA*16-50 + DA*50-135 + Metz 58AF1 in there with spare batteries. So I am not sure whether to get the SP40 or not @$65. i also am wondering if I should get the Aveo 3 or 5 for the sides . . .

Get from pk chan. Think 50 only. Wif d pad, cross sling is no issue to me. Carry mine everyday cross slinging.

i use my hadley pro to carry k-01, DA 21, FA 31 and FA 77..even then..i still prefer to use the pad becoz otherwise due to the length of the strap, the metal buckle will cut into my shoulder and hurts like hell

PK Chan quoted me @$65, that is why I am reconsidering.

Thanks Bro. For me the metal buckle does not bother me as it is at the side.

It really depends how long you have made your strap to be, and if you cross sling on which shoulder.

For me, I prefer it short, and that means probably 5/8 of the strap is double strap, and 3/8 of the strap is single strap. When you put attached the padding, if you don't cross sling, the pad will sit on the 5/8 of the strap that's double strap. That's fine. But when you cross strap, then it doesn't sit right on the shoulder, so you need to move the pad a bit, and you cannot do it cos' it's tight as it's sitting on the double strap section and it'll hit the buckle. You'll have to re-adjust the position, by unclasping one of the buckle of padding, and move that down to the single strap section.

Chim? It's probably easier if I show that to you in person.

Anyways, so if you adjust the strap quite long, meaning the double strap section is actually shorter, then you may not have the problem that I have above, cos' the pad will sit on the single strap section when you cross sling or when you use it on 1 side of the shoulder.

I hope my description makes sense.

The newer version is definite better in usability. If you tried the older version, you'll appreciate the newer one.

Actually once upon a time, Billingham actually made the straps a bit longer. The strap on the right hand side sits higher up, so no matter how you adjust the strap length, the middle section of the shoulder strap is always double strap. And so if you fit the pad there, cross sling or not, it can be easily adjusted without you having to remove it to move it across the buckle.

I believe they wanted to savee some cost, and if you shave off 3-4 inches worth of strap on each bag you manufacture, you'll save a "LOT". But if you ask me, the bag already cost this much, even if you include the cost of this 3 - 4 inches of the strap, the customer would still buy the bag. It's not like they have done this and say "I am trying to preserve the price of the bag" at its current rate.

To see this ... you just have to pay PK a visit and watch his old bag versus your newer hadley pro, and you'll notice it.
