Definitely the 50mm! I got the 50mm f1.8 at $105 1+ yr back, and I junked that for 50mm f1.4 USM at $500+ recently. I found the f1.8 was slow to focus. Very happy with the 50mm f1.4 now.

Diameter is because 250m @ f5.6, aperture size is about 44m+. So lens diameter gotta be bigger than that. hehe

85mm F1.8 for me as i shoot portrait. The sharpness is way much better than 50mm F1.8, of cos the focusing too. worth every penny spent. :thumbsup:

Lens price drop is making a big diference.
Seen Fews of the MO of lens and camera is stop carry out anymore MO soon.

Ehh depends on your needs.

I think birders will find 400 f/5.6 quite worth it and portrait photographers will find 85 f/1.8 (or f/1.2 for that matter) worth it. :what:
