Actually, I had saved a copy of Canon SG's price list from a while back and the 50/1.2L was never listed.hmmm I looked up the Canon price list and I realised the 50 1.2L is not listed? Anyone know why?

Hi,
Just visited MS colour and found out that the lens EF135mm f/2 is going for S$1160, which is below the local private importer's price of S$1200, WOW
Will buy this lens on my next pay day...Hehe.
Recently discounts is making us very happy, but not those importers from HK.
Cheers

Confirm MS selling at that price? Hmm... worth it!
Maybe noone getting 50 f1.2? Hopefully someone will check the price of this prime :bsmilie:

Some place the 135mmF2L is cheaper then $1160.....local warranty.
Weird.. 50 1.2 seemed popular.. No other canon lens is that fast (considering AF too)!

hmmm still more expensive than from importers..... $150 extra for 3 mths warranty :dunno:
Actually the local importer never date the receipt so you can date it only when you want to service it so you have extra many many mths warranty if buy from the local importer.
Another big reason why Canon should compete with the local importer!!! So, Canon, please lower your price.. more, I mean.. lower it by way more.. :bsmilie:
I think Canon might soon ask you to produce foreign passport before they honour international warranty with receipts. Just rumours I heard.
IMO they have no basis to do that as I think (haven't rly check) that the international warranty T&C doesn't restrict any nationality from claiming warranty. Consumers always have their consumer rights.
Well is up to them to change their T&C isn't it?
True. But there is always CASE.
Yesterday i bought 24-105mm from MS at $1530 cash... tried to bargain but they insist cannot.
Support Singapore economy!
If you are a member of case. But if the T&C says that, even CASE has no case.:bsmilie:

So you are supporting Singapore GST?Just came back from HK. Wing Shing quoted me HKD7650, FX to SGD by credit card will cost me about S$1400.
Sure it is cheaper than Singapore but you cant really test the lens cos over there the shop is very crowded and salesperson but so patient. So in the end never buy there. Support Singapore economy!
Just realized that I am mainly talking about all those who already have a lens with international warranty prior to the change in T&C. Then those owners will kbkb till the cows come home or until canon service their lens.
You are referring to those people who buy the lens from the local importer after the change in T&C. Then in this case, caveat emptor applies if the T&C clearly states that only foreign nationalities will be eligible for the international warranty. But IMO this is not how international warranty should function.
