i don't think Zhipeng was in any wrong. It's a personal warranty, not a return policy. Creditor should have the right to demand from the Debtor. This is the rule of the life!

OH NO!
Seemed like someone's a$$_on_fire

:bsmilie::bsmilie:;);)

i think you have learnt your lesson now.. so be more careful next time when you sell and do not let the person owe you any payment.. because you and the buyer are not friends and you won't know what is he/she like..

..... because you and the buyer are not friends and you won't know what is he/she like..

Sometimes it is worst because the involved parties are friends :bsmilie:

If someone can afford a lens, what is $30??? Why the delay just to pay $30? It's not as if someone has to empty his bank just for $30. $30 is just 3 weekend movie tickets.

Lesson learnt, in future its either the buyer pay in full or the seller refuse to sell and walk away from it.

$30 is very cheap to see how's a person real character.

lesson learnt, just move on.

yes second that. photography a expensive hobby. and yet the delay of $30. its so funny. haha.

if i happen to sell any lens again. i will put it at BNP and deal at my place. yesterday i sold one of my lens and the buyer stay east. yet he cab down to my place (west) to deal.

One tip: Most buyers tend to ask for discount, so i think alot of sellers will overstate their actual selling price by $20-$30.

It happens on other places where i sell stuff too.

To think TS would provide 3-weeks money back guarantee on a 2nd hand lens is a bit naive. TS will never get his lens sold since people will be taking the advantage and test the lens for 3 weeks and then return it. Better than going to camera rental company to rent.

The buyer said he is still in army so he is either a citizen or a 2nd generation PR http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showpost.php?p=5597563&postcount=10 hence there is no excuse that he is not familiar with Singapore culture.

Just my observation...

i will be very STUPID if i provide money back policy. which means im doing free lens rental services.

I don't think it is a good idea to provide personal warranty in any form when selling 2nd items.

First of all, the seller must not try to sell a defected items unless it is clearly stated so in the post. So, if the item is functioning as design when the transaction took place, then the seller should not be responsible when something goes wrong the next day. Plus, one will never know what happened to the lens after the transaction, it might have been dropped or parts being replaced and the buyer then claim for the personal warranty. The best way is for the buy to check to ensure everything is in order before handing over the money.

There are risks involve in buying 2nd hand items but that is the price to pay for dealing with items that has no warranty.

understand. lesson learnt and no more personal warranty. btw, yes. he is 19 and serving army. heard from him, he is a singaporean.

TS, you are not alone! There are some buyers who will always give "excuses" that they are short of $xx and promise to transfer to your bank account (which we know will never happen!)
Move on!
Shame on this cheapskate buyers! :thumbsd:

yes. CHEAP. please dun take up photography since they are so CHEAP.

maybe its the same person who cheat around.. so beware.

just want to inform CS there's this buyer around. so beware.

Thread close...

Just take the $30 as giving him $$ to buy medicine for himself

1- Never sell spoiled items (unless stated in your thread, i heard from someone that his friend bought 600mm Nikon lens and lens feel on ground just in 1 week can imagine if he sold that lens to someone without informing him, other party would be dead).
2- Let other party know if any warranty left (if no warranty, make sure other party check if item is working and satisfied. I always insist buyer to properly check. How you know the person you are selling abusing item in 1 day and next day item die).
3- Today i learn that in future i will ask person to get exact change. I went to sell one item and buyer was in construction site, he inspect item and gave me Hundred Hundred dollar notes total deal was 140. Can imagine if i would only have 50$ notes (he was at construction site with no ATM machine in sight and city was also far from the location), now in future if i will sell item i will ask buyer to have exact change available.
4- To those who think after using 3 weeks they can return item if they don't like, they should put themselves in other shoes'. I am not sure what TS and other party said when they were dealing, only they and GOD knows better. Now one word against other, anyone can makeup any story (I am not accusing anyone).

I have learned one thing, never trust anyone with respect to money. I have seen and read a lot of cased when brother went against brother for money.
I would rather cancel deal and sell to others then waiting for other to transfer money later.

WARRANTY = a usually written guarantee of the integrity of a product and of the maker's responsibility for the repair or replacement of defective parts :D

TS, its your bad luck. take it as a lesson learnt. I encountered similar shitty issues before too but luckily not related to $$$.

Its GOOD that u highlight this here. NOW sellers will knw what to look out for. A gd point mentioned in one of the posts above was nt to provide personal warranty.

I TOTALLY agree on that. Take this incident like u drink water in MRT loh (kidding u la hehe)
