Beercan Portrait & Bokeh

beercan exclusively refers to the Minolta AF 70-210 F4 lens? i got a feeling it's very expensive.. haha. i don't know lens prices actually..

It's about 300-350. Quite frequently pops up on the Buy/Sell section.

I got mine from ebay at about $160(inclusive of shipping). the only minus point is that there may be a 2-8weeks wait due to shipment as well as customs clearance. but this lens is really worth every penny spent.

$160 for a beercan is a damn good price man.

Yes bro, the weight of these legendary lenses is a thing to consider if you want a light setup but it's the all metal construction that makes it last and withstand all the usage. ;)

Agree bro. I love the old lenses too. :)
I had bad experience with the Tokina, hence I am still sticking to the beercan. The Sigma 75-200mm f2.8-3.5 also not bad and seems to be sharper than the Tokina. It's in the old push-pull zoom design and rather compact as compare to the Tokina.

I have opened up a new lens from another brand but with the same range as the beercan,
The lens arrangement is very much similar to beercan. Although some of the equivalent metal parts in beercan were replaced with plastic

Agreed, bro.
