Bali rejoiced (H series)

i noted the matching colors of my shoes with the floor, with a subject focus just right in front of me. the composition naturally follows. this is taken at Klungkung's Kertha Gosa.

was browsing through casey's blog and saw a very similar composition.

i have always like blond as a photographic subjects. the hair color adds to the picture. the composition is very flat as i'm quite shy and does not want to intrude into their composition. by standing far inside the shelter in the raised platform, i would be in the shadows like another tourist, but that leave me with a fence in front which is preferably avoided.

Mmm, I like this shot.

Like the style in which you process your photos, very signature.

most people have their own style too. i particularly like oeyvind's and xray's style.

painting of henna is everywhere along the beach, if you like it. mostly children and girls go for it.

was a little uneasy when trying to shoot this little girl as i'm worried of being mistaken as a pedophile. also wasn't used to seeing little girls not wearing a top, as usually our asian girls are covered up. she was with her family. the little foot next to her belong to her brother who is buried in the sand, and her mum is using a compact to take photos for them. or could she be a boy with long hair.... ???

vendor selling big hippie necklaces, putting it on top of the head, perhaps feeling a little tired due to poor sale.

satay rice is one of the common dishes in bali, but they tend to be a bit more tough than singapore's satay

jatiluwih with a shallow but wide horizon of rice terrace. you need to pay an extra fee as "local road tax" but can't rem what is the amount. i just know it has rise in charge as compared to what is quoted in lonely planet. it is a gloomy day and almost drizzling. the deep greyish color is further brought out with a cokin GND with a magenta tinge. becos of that tinge, i have to bring down the green hue to avoid a clash between this two bright colors, but i avoided making too yellow of the grass. although pushing more yellow hue out of the green makes it more soothing, it may be too unrealistic. a tight fight between choosing between the two - aesthetic versus realism. i picked something in between. and although the weather isn't really good on lighting, i like the fog from the burning (which however can be bad for air in sg if excessively done)

i kept all my pictures in the same format of 3008x2000 px but i thought some pictures can be considered in alternative format (although the master edited copy will still be in the original aspect ratio).

thought the above can be cropped and compressed into a panaromic of aspect ratio 2.5, and i added further darkening via leveling

have been watching this girl with pink patches on her face. very in looking. have a few shots that i find it hard to decide which one to post, will post one first, although the focal subject in this picture is more on her friend.

This works better for me.

So moody! I like!

nice photos zoossh. I enjoyed looking at them.
but alittle concern about your small yellow border rectangle in your photos, it looks like national geographic logo.
