kuta & legian beach. pre-sunset

just in case anyone ask. no alteration of colors or hues. the top is however darkened slightly.
time taken 604pm - in my opinion, the starting of the show of the colors is the best, thereafter it will get more and more olive-saffron when you shoot (dunno why but that is how the sensor handles colors and i didn't like that very much - the sick brownish-yellow)

#10 cute little girl in ubud.

behind is her mum's shoulder. in order not to trouble the mum too much, i did not ask the mum to move away. and to avoid that would take too much time at an unfavorable angle, hence i bear with that effect. did not clone away as it will affect the edge.

Hi zoosh
How many stops was the Grad ND u used in pic 7?
i got lots of problem holding back the skies with just a 2 f-stop, and am thinking whether i should invest in a 4 / 5 f-stop stop to hold back really sunny skies

3 stop but it barely hold back the sun (when included) like mine. but is there commerically 4 stop and more? cokin's grad is not soft edge enough. hitech and singh ray's soft edge is better. now waiting to use tianya.

you can consider stack rectangular filters but the physical vignette will increase

Singh Ray actually has up to a 5 stop filter with soft edge. Thanks zoosh. I just needed to know what are the common grad ND stops that photographers usually bring along, so i might be better prepared for future trips.

Hi Zoossh

I am leaving for Bali soon. As I could not get SQ tickets (sigh), I had to fly in by Garuda via Jakarta. I am not sure if this is a safe thing. Any advice? Thanks in advance.

have you used a singh ray filter? they are very very good but also very expensive. for heavy use, it can get dirty. i depleted 2 set of singh ray filters in a trip to laos and a set of hitech filter in india, both heavily dusty places.

now thinking of getting tianya filter as a last resort and KIV use tianya as primary on the go shooting and singh ray in relaxed situations where i can slowly take out the filter and put back.

um. are you asking me if garuda airline is safe? i dun think i can give any good advices on that so not to worry you. but why not jetstar? also no more tickets?

otherwise all the flights made to denpasar. no difference otherwise. come out of the airport and you should turn to the right, within 20m there would be a prepaid bus booth. google perama to check schedule or go back a few posts in this thread to check link

Wow...can't believe I actually missed out your this series  As usual, your portraits are really sui....#6, #10....I really like the color....very consistent each time and well saturated

Ya i got a 2 stop Grad ND and a reverse ND. Now i am considering ordering a 4/5 stop ND from them. I accidentally fell my ND filter on Vienna road and kenna a tiny glass chip at the edge but lucky no scratches and does not affect filter placement. Very hardy but gotta keep cleaning it

got any tips of cleaning? got to learn from you.

i brought along my microfibre cloth and alcohol.
I mainly do hand holding instead of the cokin holder so end up sometimes got finger print marks instead which cannot be cleaned by the blower.

i am sure u got more tips to share dude

:bsmilie: i'm a rough handler becos i changes lens and filters relatively fast for moving subjects, rather than static landscape. ain't a good cleaner.
