the new lens price is about same as 2nd hand price in BnS section. if you are there by chance, then worth, if just fly there to buy, hmmm....if you buy white color lens, i think still worth it.

Check this out.

I have not validated the price with any shop. looks like the list is updated from time to time.

i was there twice in June. Struggle with thought of upgrading ... now back in SG coping with some regrets

Well i have the same regret of not doing more research and bringing more cash over... could have gotten a L lens there :(

Are the lenses cover with internation warranty? What are some of the things we need to take note of while doing the purchase?

Was in HK 3 weeks ago and bought the following from Wing Shing in Mongkok

Speedlite 580EX II - HKD3100
17-40mm L - HKD5150

I had gone armed with the prices off Price.com.hk & ydragon, and true enough Wing Shing quoted me those prices right off the bat, no need for bargaining. They even took time to show me the equipment, and made sure to go through the pricing, receipts, warranty, serial numbers etc. Service was very professional & proficient and I was most pleased. A friend bought the Canon S90 but I don't recall how much she paid, definitely a lot cheaper than SG.

May be heading to HK again in a month or so, and will probably get a tripod and some filters this time round.

So in hk, paying in cash will get a better price as well??

I will be going to hk in a couple of days, so thought of buying 1 or 2 lenses.

Do you guys know what are the lenses that will give the biggest savings when getting in HK? Will be going there in Sept. So far looking at the tamron 17-50 VC.

I am also looking at tamron 1750. Base on the tin cheung website, it's abt SGD731, local price according to CS price list is abt SGD960. Have not call any shops to confirm.

I will be going to hk in a couple of days. Will post the price here when i am back.

Dear Inevitz, I called CP yesterday & was told price went up already & $960.

$600 is VC version right? If so, the difference is quite substantial, $600 VS $960

Not sure if this will spoil market or help but yeah this is what i got from my recent trip from HK.

1) Sigma 8-16mm @ SGD890 from Tin Chueng(however the crap to spell this lol)
2) Tamron 17-50mm VC @ SGD600 from Echo Photo & Audio (really reccomend this shop)3) Canon S90 for my gf @ SGD480 from Echo Photo & Audio (good cause it comes with Int Warranty)
4) Canon 430EXII @ SGD350 from Xing San smth.. =X
5) Hoya Original UV Filter @ SGD20 =)
6) Friend got a Nikon D90 kit 18-55 grey for body lens with warranty @ SGD1000-

Really had a freaking good time there.. and wish i brought more money over...

Sigma and Tamron both had International Warranty Coverage for a year :)
