Tincheung online price for tamron 17-50 VC is 4095HKD ... where u got the 3200HKD price from ? care to share ?

I was there last week. The price in the website is different if you go to the shop. They will quote you lower from the website site prices. Use the website prices as a benchmark. If you use Mastercard or Visa, they will automatically convert to Sin$ for you depending on the rates that day. Amex no direct conversion.

There is no issues with water goods.. my set is mostly made of water goods.. and it all have not given me a single problem

You need to make sure where will the warranty come from. It is usually shop warranty only and not by Canon.

Any idea, Canon lens is cheaper there? I find that the Tamron and Sigma lens much cheaper in HK. Canon lens is not significant.

if i have times, i could have go over other places that recommended by CSTan, had meeting till 5pm, went wang kok for 2hrs then got to go for business dinner...just too short time, not only camera, think the phone there also cheaper, got money, no time...

all canon lens in HK certainly cheaper compared to SG, got a fisheye and 16-35II, brand new price same as 2nd hand price here in forum, but older, LOL...got a 580Ex2 about $560.00...again, cheaper....

Sigma is more popular then Tamron, not many shops carry Tamron.

The lens is still manufactured by Canon so I would say if the lens is brand new, then it should be exactly the same - difference is just the price and the warranty terms.

i feel bad...so i call the shop Wing Shing Photo Supplies where i bought my canon gears there, they quoted me for 800mm at HK96,780.00 as i dont want to disturb my client in HK. No stock in shop, need to order prior to collect.

In Hong Kong, for the hard to get lenses, you might have to pre-pay the full amount in order to secure one quickly. Have talked to some of the shops and they told me if I want to get the next batch coming in from Canon HK, I will need to pay the full amount as deposit otherwise there is no guarantee they will reserve it for me since others will have paid the full amount and be on the wait list ahead of the queue.

I wonder did the price increase so much Frm 3200 to ard 3900 in 1 wk

Seems to be consistent with price.com.hk.

$3200 is for water goods, $3900 is for orig
