Actually D700 at that time was sold for around $3500 street price. Which IMHO still ok, but RRP was $3888. If given the same calculation, D800 street price should be around $4100.. which to me too much. If at street $3500.. can still consider.

remember that the first few days when D700 was released, it was also selling at RRP... Just wait for the mad rush is over, and see what happens when the dust settles.

WOW SGD4488 RRP.. really a rip off. This is a global society 21st Century. They think we in SG print $$? :P

This is call demand and supply ... basic economics ... the reality is that there are many with hoards of $ here and willing to part with it. :)

That's what happen when local Telco bid for BPL. Made others country think that SG print $$$.

all so excited.. just relac.. wait wait wait., while the others cheong cheong cheong.

You all think local RRP is bad?

Think Europe, i believe their waiting list is way much more then us.

SGD 4.3K inclusive of GST if one orders from Amazon USA. That's after double taxation. :dunno:

Not sure, but if you see normally Nikon launches new product.. always not enough stock. Not sure if it is deliberate or they did not plan enough.

Learn from Apple mar... create the hunger...

Is the Malaysia or Hong Kong price justified for a free tour? If buy D800 in these two countries.

Can literally felt the dismay of the Nikon users hoping to finally get an hand on D800, and especially so after we witness all the song and dance put up by Canon last week during the 5D Mark3, well executed launch, no false start or boo boo. Btw, I heard another new batch of 5D Mark III is arriving next week. What is wrong with Nikon ... sigh.. :( leaving all of us high and dry.

Throw in the local warranty and you just solved the mystery of how Nikon SG does it pricing.

That's not the point. Nikon USA can offer it at USD 3k with local warranty, but Nikon SG can't/ wont?

So when?

Ok, pls let us know the update hehe thanks

5dmk3's 3499usd (canon usa) is only 4699sgd (canon sg), D800's 3000usd (nikon usa) can become 4488sgd (nikon sg). really disappointing with local pricing, looks like sg is a good place to carrot all the nikon users.

they can sell its battery grip for over 1k sgd next.
