Just checked this morning with MS that the price for D70 with GST is S$1400 (body Only). However, need to order coz currently have no new stock....

I say this price is still on the high side. Nikon Malaysia has revise the price to RM3188 body only at their website, which is = S$1411 (at exchange rate S$1=RM2.26). Street price should be much lower, and my guess is S$1250+-, let's wait till Christmas ;)

ps: heard the price of D70 body only is RM2700 in KL, maybe just rumors...so don't quote me on that (BUT I BELIEVE IT CAN HAPPEN) :bsmilie:

Malaysia's prices are cheap ;p maybe Kho King can start a parallel import biz?

Mai Tu Liao!

Anyone wants to follow me to KL to buy?

We can do some shopping and photoshooting at the same time. ;p

One stone kills 2 birds.

Digital Bodies are only covered by local warranty (ie, the country they are bought in)

It doesn't matter. You can always go to JB or KL Nikon Service Centre.

What's the likely chance of your D70 breaking down? Why let our local dealers earn our hard-earned money? Once they feel the pressure, they will lower down the price. :what:

Think there's only a service center in KL and another in Penang, none in JB

Yes, you are right. There are only 2 Service Centres - Penang and KL.

But... quoted from Nikon Malaysia website :

Goods can be returned via any Nikon Authorized Dealers or directly to Nikon at the address below:

Nikon (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd
Ground Floor, Lots 22 & 24,
Jalan 225, Section 51A,
46100 Petaling Jaya,
Selangor Darul Ehsan.

If you chose to send your equipment directly to us we recommend that your product be shipped via a carrier that can provide confirmation of delivery and insurance services for your shipment. Record your shipment tracking number for further reference.

Malaysia is quite big, so you can't expect even the locals to travel to KL or Penang to service their equipment. Hence, sending via the Authorised Dealers is more convenient?

OT: why isnt there a price revision or reduction for the Apple Powerbooks ????

well.. i will be heading to KL end of the month ... perhaps i will get it there

Big department store like Harvey Norman and Best Denki will still sell at retail price but will give some freebies like 1 GB CF card, tripod and camera bag....

See yesterday and today newspaper....
they're probably still carrying the older stock at the higher price. (the value of the gifts doesn't measure up to the actual price of the body and kit.)

the smaller places like john don't have the kind of money to carry so many sets for sale, that's why they prob just stock based on the latest price.

(not sure if nikon practices rebating their dealers when there is a price adjustment?)

You know, even if they offer the CF and the tripod, it's still more expensive than other places... haiz... if only I got ready cash... Then will BUY BUY BUY!!!

Now... crossing my fingers that I can get it via instalment payment (don't seems to have the right CC company for the current instalment plans that the shops have...)

this is really one piece of good news :)

switch switch switch!!!.. ;)

Bought from big department store got 0% Interest free instalment plan and can extend warrantly up to 5 years.....

price will eventually synchronise. what it means is great news for the consumers (and a bit loss of money for those who just bought it).

it seems that it is a stock clearing exercise, notice that Canon has a 8MP DSLR and Olympus also have a 8MP DSLR in the gates for Christmas. There might be others but I have not checked. Nikon might have a suprise waiting for christmas.

just called up Alan Photo at simlim square. $1365 for D70 body only. hur hur...

$199 for the lexar 1gb 80x CF
and $85 for D70 battery
