Any Ricoh GX100 user out there?

Ronang,

I see you confirm that a 43 to 46 step up and 46 filter allows you to use the original lens cap. But that means you can't use the hood, right?

Ideally, I want to leave the adaptor and hood on as my default setup, but I suppose that means I would need a 43 lens cap or a 43 filter so that I don't leave the actual lens exposed when not in use. Hmm, a bit annoying. Also, I see that none of my old 55 or 58 filters fit on the WA converter. It's a 56 or 57? Yet another step ring needed!

Anyhow, Ronang and everyone, thanks to all of you who led the way on the 1.13 update, the filter questions and for the research on cases. I'm that much farther ahead because of your efforts!

JT

the WA converter is supposed to be 58mm... but there isn't any thread to screw a filter on.

Make that one more person kenna poisoned by this thread. Just got mine from John :)

Either compromise and get the 21/25 viewfinder for 19/24 (anyway viewfinders are not 100% accurate, they tend to show ~90%).

Otherwise checkout http://www.cameraquest.com/leicafin.htm and hunt for the canon 19mm and leitz 24mm finders ( http://www.samys.com/product_detail.php?item=6053&PHPSESSID=06ec02118d0881ce68) ....

Or get the leica 21-24-28 zoom finder (http://www.luminous-landscape.com/reviews/accessories/21-24-38vf.shtml)

I have the voigt 25mm viewfinder and might bring it out for IR outings (let me know in advance if you're interested to try it out) ....

Hi guys, I will need some help as I had just tried to update the firmware from 1.12 to 1.13 but after trying all the methods listed on the official website and placing the files slaunch3 and slaunch 7 in the root/DCIM/root+DCIM folders, all attempts so far failed. What can I do about it?

anybody tried IR with GX100 yet?

hi gx100 users,
i have narrow down my choice between a gx100 and f31fd, it is still a difficult decision to choose among these 2 cams? in term of lens quality, which of these cams is better??

Don't own the F31fd although came very close.
I think it all depends on what is more important to you.
The GX100 is a superb camera and is one of the very few with a 24mm zoom lens.
Optics wise not sure about the F31 but the GX100 is very good however in terms of high iso it is no match with the F31.
For me the wide angle is a major factor.

Mmmm not sure how to help you but maybe you can try to format the card in the camera before copying the files first to the root and if it does not work copy again to the DCIM folder.
