Ok. Did anyone tried AF test? I know this sounds stupid, I did a focus test and do some micro adjustment on the camera. It works fine. When i went for photoshoot, I put on cokin ND8 filter. Guess what happened, it front focused! I took it out, it focused fine. My Friend x2 confirmed about that too. But of coz, we are testing on a printed piece of paper, shooting side way, hand held the camera.
Which photoshoot did you attend ?
Not sure that it's front/back focus, previously I shot AF-D 85mm f/1.4 with ND8, handheld the camera, and I feel it's not as sharp as it used to be in 100% crop. Regarding this issue, I just think that this filter might be designed for landscape photographer, which shoot from f8 to f16.
aperture?
wrong AF point?
Which brand of ND filter?

 Thank you for sharing. All are taken with AFS 85mm f/1.4G ? Really poisonous !![]()
I was using Hoya ND8 filter, shooting with AF-D 85mm f/1.4 at aperture f/1.8.
In 100% crop could see the difference as I feel most of the pictures I took without ND8 is sharper.
Here's a photo i shot yesterday.

Did a comparision between the AFD and the new AFS 85mm in nikon showroom with a d3s. Confirm the AFD is much faster. The iq from both appears very similiar from the small body LCD.
The history has repeated again, as AFD 50mm f/1.4 also seems to focus faster than AFS 50mm f/1.4G.
the torque on the D3 bodies are no joke.
