AF-S 35mm f/1.4G Nano

The reasonable 2nd price for the "legendary" 28mm f/1.4 should be lower from both 24 f/1.4 and 35 f/1.4.
28mm f/1.4 is an AF-D lens either. Anyone still want to buy and shoot with this 28mm f/1.4 lens ?

Why not.. i bet any AFD lens can last even longer then any AFS lens with it less electronic parts and usually better build.. Some of the AFD lenses focus much faster then AFS lenses..

anyone got this lens?

any reviews? not much interest in this lens...

I enjoy shooting at 35mm much more than 50mm. Thus my 35f2 was always on my cam for walkabout shots or tour. After scoring a 24f1.4 on the BnS, I feel that i can live without the 35mm. My new kit consist of my 24mmF1.4 and 85AFDF1.4.

The only cons is that the new primes are all big size. even though the 35mm is 67mm the body size is similar to the 85mm and 24mm. Gone are the days of carrying all the small primes in your bag.

glad to stay with Nikon

now that this has come to fruit :

soon for this to be realised :

ZeroDivine i think u will stay for good

didnt see the price on Dpreview. considering that it is about the same as the 85/1.4; it is way overpriced.

Taking reference from the other camp and how Nikon prices its new pro lenses, u will know all these new fast lenses needs a federal bailout

With its launch, perhaps it will drive the lengendary 28/1.4 down to a more realistic and affordable price in the 2nd hand market....last check on ebay they are still going for 4K plus.

As u have put it, it is still a legend, so be prepared for a legendary price

Ryan

canadian users have already got theirs.. :D check out dpreview forum

Eagerly anticipating for it to arrive!

Waiting for 35mm f/1.4g too. I guess the RRP maybe is 2999? Then market price will be around 2600.

Already using the AF-S 24/1.4 on a DX, so that's like the new AF-S 35/1.4. :bsmilie:

Not too bad, but still perspective not that kind of tokong stuff I find on the web. Really need to get a FX one of these days.
35 on a FX is useful, but I already have a 30mm on a DX. (good enough for most earning $$$)

Really niche lenses for these more expensive a 24-70/2.8 stuff.

Frankly speaking, previously I didn't trust nikonrumors. But after the announcement of AFS 85mm f/1.4G and 35mm f/1.4G, it has slowly started to change my mind LOL.

Other than AFS 50 f/1.2G, latest rumors say that Nikon start to update its legendary AFD 28mm f/1.4 with a new AFS 28mm f/1.4G

I was kind of hoping that it is a 1.4D instead of a 1.4G.

Still not released yet in Singapore. Wait until my neck long long liao.

fwiw, both adorama and bhphotovideo are still listing this as "pre-orders". makes me wonder how the canadians got theirs so quickly...

it's supposed to hit stores by this month and we're already at the end of November.. hmm...
looks like they couldn't get all the stocks out fast enough as predicted

hmm.. for the heck of it, after including shipping, bhphotovideo is roughly selling this for SGD2500. plus our 7% GST, mebbe works out to be $2600? for msia retail, it is roughly $2300.

i'm guessing SG prices is somewhere in between bah. guess we just have to wait... then we can bitch about the pricing for real. :bsmilie:

Very interesting lenses but quite ex.
