Pentax is just one simple and straightforward company, who manufactures and designs useable cameras. In which quiet shutter and AF is a luxury in which is reserved for the higher end only for in which I could say ain't really important for most of us because we are only after the IQ and that's why we have DSLR's.
I guess the reason for Pentax to design such is to make the camera to be simple, reliable and straightforward. no Flashy SDM, dampened shutter, and popup flash in which could make the camera more expensive and can make reliability issues in the long run.
Anyway, in the design phase they should have no problem in including such features as they already have it on k-7. but would you think that the price would be the same as offered now?:sticktong
BTW, i still prefer body based AF motor as it makes the lenses as small as possible. Basically I cannot imagine a DA 40 f2.8 pancake with SDM... hehe.
