The fact that you need to reboot and format the card still doesn't convince me 100% it will be in the final product. ;)

Well that's a valid point too. We just need to wait 2 more weeks and we'll know

Hopefully because now B&H says the expected availability is November 09 2012.

You can pick it up in hk from Oct 26

What I really like about the A99 is this:

The Silent Control wheel also feels great to the touch and is silky smooth. You can change its function on the fly, and is especially useful when you want to change metering mode, ISO, or other functions.

1 wheel for Aperture
1 wheel for Exposure
1 wheel for ISO

1 more wheel for Flash Compensation please. ;p

tried the A99 yesterday... uhm... mix feeling...

Well it's an improvement over your previous thoughts. :)

yup, but I still don't find it is the right camera for me... well see how it goes... happy to use A900 for another few years...

I am tempted to shoot more with NEX-7... its seriously much lighter... think I am getting old.

Oh ya, that's for sure, u r getting old.

The young ones prefer light and stylish cameras.
The older ones prefer light and functional cameras.

The only ones left with the SLR are the middle-aged ones.

to me I think A99 is a huge improvement over A77 in terms of noise control seen some pix over the net and looks like what's Ive been wishing for on a Sony SLT, just that the noise pattern seem looks like A77... I'll OT a bit but I noticed NEX-7 noise pattern is much better than A77 this is based so far on my observation... specially the RAW files.

For the size and weight I am still ok with DSLR... but when travelling specially with family or business I'll go with mirrorless maybe with A55 size body.

To be fair.. the A99 is already very light..at least its not your usual 900+ grams -1kg or more FF camera.

Mirrorless for me, unless i'm on assignment :bsmilie:

Not really magic considering it's the same pixel count on a much larger surface. ;)

yeah agree. But not considering the megapixel I guess in terms of IQ and Noise A99 wins over A77 like they say bigger is better lolz.. Sensor pixel size i read somewhere bigger the better... need to check if that's true hehe

that's what's happening to me rightnow most of the time I have my mirrorless in my bag... (like sometime going to work, or going out with family)

I was shooting a birthday party assignmrny with NEX7 and Leica lenses. Feels like a better fit for me.
