still have it! hehe... surprisingly the techart works better with certain lenses compared to the metabones. looks like i have to keep both! or at least until a date when the metabones have a FW update that makes my techart redundant.

for example, my sigma 24 1.4 AFs very well even in AF-C on the techart, works well on the metabones on and off only! sometimes the metabones sees it as a manual lens, sometimes as AF lens. abit wonky.

50 art works super on the metabones, but doesnt AF on my techart.

hit and miss la... so will keep the techart on my 24 art. and metabones for all my other lenses. Good thing about techart is that they do firmware udpates too! hopefully they will reverse engineer something and post another update soon.

lol was about to give up on the techart for the ef70-300l, cos tested on the metabones the AF was dam fast, the techart has a tendency to stop AF after hunting.

good to know that it still have it use after all

Just came back from Funan.
Checked with afew shops (TK, CP, CLICK, SLR)
The offer are the same. 4099..same gifts same PWP. No more stocks. However you can "book your set first" if you give them your name. Click! requires you to deposit 50% though.. to secure a unit. (not sure isit just me..but that's what they told me.. and they say stock to come in early sept. Other stores..cant give me a date).

Only SLR has ready stock. As of 11am when I was there. 2 units left.

Additional info... FE 16-35F4 is $1350. Same price across the shops too..

From what i know the price is fixed by Sony, authorize dealer who sell higher will get ban and removed from dealer ship. And yes the PWP is the same across all, but it's always good to ask the retail store before buying.

No problem, just got my set not long ago, i am using Voigtlander 35mm 1.2 ii and 75mm 1.8 both equally sharp but require one to really do accurate manual focusing.

Seems like the best way to focus is to set to monochrome +3 sharpness +0 contrast (RAW to get colors back) and peaking set to high in red.

And most importantly use a Voigtlander close focus adapter, it can use both as a normal adapater and help close focus, available at Chiif Camera.

Sorry to inform you the A7R ii is only body, no kit set available. Getting the 28 F2 I believe I can get a Samyang 35mm 1.4 E-mount which is a more all rounder lens.

Of course Samyang is not the best but not bad for budget.

actually if you are good at manual focusing, the samyang glasses are very good value. the 12mm F2.8 Fisheye, 14mm F2.8 UWA, 50mm F1.4, 135mm F2 are all excellent performers. Alot of them outperform their brand name counterparts from Canon and Nikon.

kit lens can be easily bought on CS classifieds between 250-300. hopefully the AF has improved in speed on the a7r2 with the PDAF points. but i do not have one to try with hehe.

which canon lense do you have?

Yep Samyang are good for both wallet and image quality but they are still huge in size and defeat the purpose of being compact, that's why I went with voigtlander. It's small and soild and doesn't break my bank like leica, but I do hope to upgrade to leica's 35 F2, 50 0.95 and 90 soon.

Tony Northrup have tested a few lenses and finds anything more than 300mm AF will hunt. Best bet is Metabone and EF70-200mm maxed.
