A7r mk2

Tony Northrup have tested a few lenses and finds anything more than 300mm AF will hunt. Best bet is Metabone and EF70-200mm maxed.

the 70-300L will AF perfectly at 300mm too. I noticed a different limitation to canon lens AF on the sony cameras. the AF is less reliable when you are at or very close to minimum focus distance. very accurate at distances away from MFD, and super good at long range.

at MFD, the lens will usually focus back and forth a few times before getting the focus. I find it also helps if you manually focus to nearly the correct focus for close ups near MFD, and the lens will snap into focus and lock.

this is my experience with the 70-300L and sigma 50 1.4 art

Yes, I am using this with the 70-400G with the LA EA4. It appears focusing might be slightly faster than with the A7R. I am waiting for my LA EA3. From what I have read, the LA EA4 is still slightly faster, but with the LA EA3, there are more focus points and no 1/3 stop loss.

Right.. with the La EA4.. the points are little and cramp in the center. Also, adapter being more expensive and big. n yes that loss of light. "forces" you to increase ISO.

So far..seems like the AF speed is pretty much the same.. only very little differences.

Please share whats your thoughts once you got your La EA3. As I will have the same combo once I finally get my A7Rii.. Right now my 70-400 G2 is lonely in the cabinet.. lol.

I can vouch for this statement. I have no problem focusing on the 50mm F1.2 L. I find that it only have a serious problem trying to AF when shooting at MFD. Other than that it was fast and accurate.

Just came back from Funan.
Checked with afew shops (TK, CP, CLICK, SLR)
The offer are the same. 4099..same gifts same PWP. No more stocks. However you can "book your set first" if you give them your name. Click! requires you to deposit 50% though.. to secure a unit. (not sure isit just me..but that's what they told me.. and they say stock to come in early sept. Other stores..cant give me a date).

Only SLR has ready stock. As of 11am when I was there. 2 units left.

Additional info... FE 16-35F4 is $1350. Same price across the shops too..

Are these shops in funan only accepting cash/nets, any cc payment?

Also anyone knows the pwp price of 16-35mm is it more expensive from official Sony store?

Not sure for all shops.. But when i ask. They do accept CC payment for A7Rii. $4099.. Some shop require you to deposit 50% first..to secure your unit.

Fe 16-35 is $1350 for most shop in Funan. Cash only.
Official Sony store.. I think its just - 250 off the SRP.. means 1799-250= 1549.

Cc payment usually entails a small surcharge. Levied by the banks. Usually around 2-2.5%.

for the shops selling at RRP, most of them accept CC without surcharge to you. i paid using CC at 4099. it is pricey enough, so the retailers can absorb the bank charges.

haha so is that good or bad? i prefer the feel of the previous A7 body for small MF lenses, but now appreciate the a7r2/a72 grip for the heavier lenses like EF lenses haha

Congrats. Now you need good lenses + adapter or Sony/Carl Ziess lenses.

It is beefy compare to M4/3 but it is a full frame so cant really compare to m4/3, instead we shld compare to Full Frame DSLR.

Still it's half the weight and size of a typical DSLR.

The 16-35mm at $1350 in Funan, is it must be pwp or can we get it on its own?

U can get on its own...
I guess its much more convenient to just call a few shops than asking in this thread though.

Eh retail price is $85 for memory card!?!?!? serious????

If so I will buy 1 more!!! Sandisk 128gb 95mb is about $2XX

I guess u never ask local shops before?
Also I think sandisk extreme pro 64gb is around 92.
