" So now I have an A7R II with what I believe to be a thermal noise issue such as the D810 at launch. Other websites and forums have given the A7R II a pass on this but I think it needs to be addressed by Sony and not in post processing.
I believe that for $3200, this quality is unacceptable. The D810 image quality beats the A7R II hands down at ISO 64 and 100. Where I think the A7R II becomes better is after ISO 400-800. If there is no fix for this from Sony, the question is what’s more important to me as a landscape shooter, better quality at low ISO with the D810 or better higher ISO on the A7R II that allows me to capture a greater range of light with better image quality, plus the weight savings… "
Anyone else ??
Pixel peeping at 400%! Must be competitor brands.i will make the same comment as i did on the FB post where this was posted " i think it's quite funny that people are intentionally underexposing shots, boosting exposure up and boosting saturation, and looking at pixels 4:1 or 400% size to find problems with an excellent camera." so far none of my long exposure shots ranging from 30 secs to 50 secs have manifested this. but then again i dont boost saturation and brightness to exaggerate any noise and view them at 4:1 size. that's worse than pixel peeping. peeping pixels at 400%!

Canon and Nikon is still sleeping that make sony Cameras look great !
so 313 sony allow u to put ur own memory card
yes. was there last Sat to play the A7R2. the staff very kindly let me put my memory card and let me play with the lens (thou most of the times i was happy playing with the pre-mounted 35 F1.4) hehe...
i guess thats one thing good about sony, you can actually play with the camera all you want before purchasing as they have many showrooms around the island...
here is an A7RM2 & ZEISS Batis 1.8/85 Xtra-fine JPEG. the smaller images are 100% crops
Anyone know what the availability is like? Quite a hot camera, I'm expecting that there will be some waiting period after the initial rush, especially if you intend to buy from 3rd party photo stores.
Anyone have a backorder from Cathay, MS, etc. and an estimate for fulfilment?
Holding off selling my A7M2 until I can be sure to change over![]()
