dream, u can be an advertising producer.
damn good imagi.

as much as i love the titanium, i wont pay 3.8k for it.
so dont tempt me lah.futile one lah.:bsmilie:

personally I'm not convinced by Acratech's idea of the GV2 being turned into a "gimbal"... it flies in the face of the idea that in a gimbal mount, the centre of mass of the camera and lens setup is mounted over the centreline of the head and tripod so that the camera and lens is perfectly balanced over the tripod and free to swivel, tilt and rotate without causing shifts in stability... ... I mean, look at the Acratech image... the centre of mass of the camera and lens is obviously hanging over the side of the head/tripod setup, meaning that the weight of the camera/lens setup is creating a torque force around the head...

this is why i do not understand the extracted statement in my previous post.

You're not paying 3.8K to buy a tripod.

You're just applying a small portion of your vast resources in exchange for a life-time of prestige and happiness.

Then after you get the pod, you can always share the love and lend it to me.

BWWWWWWWWWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

OK, just funnin yer! Won't kacau your thread anymore.

All the best in your search.

CHEERS!

p.s. Don't think you would like a real gimbal head. Massively and weighty, but once you use one with a humongous lense, you wouldn't want to use anything else.

Its gimbal-type design allows you to rotate your lens around its center of gravity and thus easily manipulate very large lenses.

this is what i dont understand.from the pic, how does the lens able to be position 'around it's center of gravity'?

blur liao....

For a gimbal design, normally the lens and it's tripod feet would sit nicely allowing one to manouvre the whole setup up and downwards, in a plane like a swing.

What Acratech is claiming is that it's design allows that when you lock the ballhead to the side, probably it's balanced in such a way that it allows it.... Seen the video of it in use and yes... meant for the single plane movement smoothly.

personally, i think its just marketing talk... :) ... now a ball head that can be turned into a gimbal could be achieved by using a Wimberley Sidekick... although to get the setup to hang directly over the centre line of the tripod one might have to get the required adaptors to adjust the distance of the arm to the ball head, depending on lens used...

only the best for jeanie

only the best for jeanie
you mean a humvee with a gimbal mount and 2 assistantwalahs to drive and to manpack the gimbal/heavy duty tripod when going off vehicle...

Only 2 assistants?

I thought there must be more... to set up lights, etc... hahha :bsmilie:

that is too small, where to mount the lights?

that is too small

Hmmmm, a Striker then? 8 wheeled, armoured carrier... :bsmilie:

Plus 1 whole platoon of men to set up stuff...

Jeanie, you know it in your heart, after looking at tat beautiful n compact tripod...

you can't bear to look at others... :bsmilie: Go ahead, make that call... order one now... :bsmilie:

the plate is long, and you can slide in and out till it balances

seriously, i can imagine myself carrying that case together with my LV for travelling.
just look at that casing and the titanium color....wah piang ehzzzz!
damn you for poisoning me.:sticktong

yeah but the rotational force exerted by the camera/lens being mounted off the centre line is still there... doesn't seeem to be a diff to tilting the head down for any other ball head and using a long plate...
