personally I'm not convinced by Acratech's idea of the GV2 being turned into a "gimbal"... it flies in the face of the idea that in a gimbal mount, the centre of mass of the camera and lens setup is mounted over the centreline of the head and tripod so that the camera and lens is perfectly balanced over the tripod and free to swivel, tilt and rotate without causing shifts in stability... ... I mean, look at the Acratech image... the centre of mass of the camera and lens is obviously hanging over the side of the head/tripod setup, meaning that the weight of the camera/lens setup is creating a torque force around the head...
dream, u can be an advertising producer.
damn good imagi.
as much as i love the titanium, i wont pay 3.8k for it.
so dont tempt me lah.futile one lah.:bsmilie:
Its gimbal-type design allows you to rotate your lens around its center of gravity and thus easily manipulate very large lenses.
this is what i dont understand.from the pic, how does the lens able to be position 'around it's center of gravity'?
blur liao....
personally, i think its just marketing talk...this is why i do not understand the extracted statement in my previous post.
you mean a humvee with a gimbal mount and 2 assistantwalahs to drive and to manpack the gimbal/heavy duty tripod when going off vehicle...only the best for jeanie

Jeanie, you know it in your heart, after looking at tat beautiful n compact tripod...
you can't bear to look at others... :bsmilie: Go ahead, make that call... order one now... :bsmilie:
the plate is long, and you can slide in and out till it balances
yeah but the rotational force exerted by the camera/lens being mounted off the centre line is still there... doesn't seeem to be a diff to tilting the head down for any other ball head and using a long plate...the plate is long, and you can slide in and out till it balances
seriously, i can imagine myself carrying that case together with my LV for travelling.
just look at that casing and the titanium color....wah piang ehzzzz!
damn you for poisoning me.:sticktong
so...acratech 'copy' wimberly?
no patent from such a renown tripod head maker?
