Why should anyone be so bothered about what a stranger says about your photography skills? I would find it very very very strange if someone actually shys away from photography as an interest just because of some harsh comments they receive from an anonymous person on the internet. There are more important things to life than some harmless criticism.

Although I was really tempted to join in and start taking sides, I feel it'll be better if we could leave it and find something more worthwhile to do.

Internet is so open that we can always choose to leave when we want to or even make a comeback. Not forgetting people (myself in particular) do make mistakes and as long he/she is sincere about 'righting' the wrongs that was done, perhaps we should give him/her a chance?

Anyway, let's move on ... surely there are many things which we could talk about ... such as the Canon EOS 1D (MKII) looks damn chio man ... I wonder how I'll look if you guys find me hanging one around my neck ... :bsmilie:

Hey cash if you're still reading this, just wanna share my views on this having spent quite some time following your posts.

I seriously think you have proven nothing about the kind of photographers we have here through your experiment. Though this is the internet, it has become part of our lives and we are humans with real feelings afterall. What i personally feel is that people responded to your tone, your arrogance and rudeness, NOT because they are a bunch gadget freaks who can't take criticism.

Although it may be far fetched but imagine this scenario.

A teacher telling his student:
"You should just quit coming to school, your handwriting is so poor i can barely read it. Can't believe you can hand those things up to me. To me it's just doodling."

versus

"Your handwriting needs to be improved in my opinion. It doesn't look like what i instructed you to write. I believe you will have to hold the pen correctly so that writing won't be so awkward. Keep trying!"

Questions:
The gist of both versions is the same. The student would probably try harder again next time, but which one would trigger a bad/heated/aggitated response?

Would the student in this case be responding due to the tone or responding because he can't take honest criticism?

Cash negative critics is nothing to be agonize about, he never get personal with the photographer. He was only giving his honest and direct opinion, which unfortunately, sounds harsh to the photographer. Honestly, how many of us here shy away from making a comment to a badly taken picture just because we dun want to step on someone's toe and vice versa?

His comment is useless and not helping? Well, then just ignore it, no big deal...There are always other who give more helpful suggestion...

As for his bad ass attitude, well...He might be a bit overboard...
But then again, he confessed, so give him a chance...
