Cant help but tink dat canon is gonna disappoint alot of ppl

Just being cautious as people may think we're trying to start a brand war.

But the truth will always be the truth.....it's a fact that Canon has dominated the FF market for many years and now that competition has caught up with them.....it's time to end the monopoly....

Whatever reasons for not releasing the MKII, may it be marketing, production or R&D issues not finalised....the fact remains that already 2 FF models are out to snatch their market share. With some others manufacturer catching up the bandwagon too...

So let there be WAR amoung them, we as consumers will benefit, and spoilt for choice for many FF camera soon at lower price too.

Lets see how long can canon stays complacent about the release of MKii

now that nikon have opened up new battle fronts, the 5D replacement better be able to kick sand in the face of at least the D700, otherwise canon can go close shop liow.

hmm i once thought of changing to nikon D700 as well
but then,i feel that what i have right now is working fine for me
its not like my photos will improve drastically if i change to nikon
my 2 cents:rolleyes:

It is interesting to note that many pros prefers Canon system is due to the sensor. The pros claims that Canon has more details at the low ISO while the new Nikon Sensor are only good at high ISO.

Quote : "Quality and Cropability The EOS-1D Mark III produces the best overall file of any digital SLR we've ever used. A CR2 coming from this camera contains a level of detail, dynamic range, tonality and overall quality that is hard to match. The Nikon D3, for example, produces a better NEF at really high ISO settings (plus very good quality generally), but at lower ISOs it can't quite deliver the fineness of detail from each pixel that the EOS-1D Mark III does. "

so need a canon system for day (outdoor) events and a nikon system for low-light events?

need more vitamin M already.....

Decent sensor and kick-a$$ lenses. Those are the very reasons I'm still sucking it up with Canon.

Let me help you to get the camera. :)

First visualise the camera. (or visit rumour sites with pic) ;p
Second, imagine you having it and feeling very happy.
Then wait, the camera will somehow make its way to you.
If in doubt, consult this book:

Found this interesting post on dpreview forums: http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/readflat.asp?forum=1032&thread=28860281

Launch date of the 5D replacement on 26 August 2008?

Here's what the threadstarter claims the site says (its in Swedish btw):

"It's written by the editor in chief of Sweden's most respected camera magazine, so I'd say it's extremely reliable.
It translates:

We've already been invited to a Canon event on September 22. Today we got a new invite.

"On August 26 at 9.00 we're invited to a press conference where we will get to see new Canon EOS products.

At this point we don't if any new products will be released on the September 22 event."

Again, take this with a big pinch of salt. :sweatsm:

Seeems that my Moolah post attracted alot of replies LOLx.
anyway speculation rules the world.

i've found that i like the wideness of the 16mm end on my 16-35 but 35 isn't long enough.

my 24-70 would be PERFECT on FF for the stuff i shoot.

maybe in a year once this replacement is out and prices have come off its early adopter peak i'll pick one up =S
