Those who want to turn pro in photography should train by running 2.4km with a camera pack and all their gear. I always see my company's pro photographer running around with a 1Ds Mk II and a Nikon and a full complement of lenses trying to chase after the VIP. :bsmilie:

"Trying to chase" means the guy is not fast enough? :dunno:

Carrying 2 diff system???

Well, running 2.4km might be abit extreme, I'll give it a go for 1km or so :bsmilie: .Is anyone going for the Canon EOS event at East Coast Park Lagoon? My teacher has arranged for a bunch of us from school to attend, and I'm interested in any info about it, maybe how good it was in the past?

Agree, 2.4 wif full cam gears is a bit extereme. Should be full gear SOC and road/forced march. ;)

Thats exactly what I'm afraid of in NS... SOC seems to be very tough...esp with a heavy pack on your back... I better train my standing broad jump and chin ups before NS... 1 year to go.

no need to worry lah.. you got good stamina and clock 10+mins for 2.4km... SOC is a piece of cake :bsmilie:

Sorry to OT,

IPPT 2.4km run and SOC are totally two different things. Doing well on one does not mean doing well for the other. I can pass IPPT but I can't even clear low wall in SOC.

I tried, just helmet and rifle without SBO, still can't clear low wall.

:bsmilie: Maybe I fly, so low wall is really low for me

bro, this SOC tastes sweet and yummy~~ :D
:bsmilie: :bsmilie: u vomit everything out after u finish SOC

Ya, SOC needs technique, esp low wall. need to get momentum and get the 'kick' up the wall. Then immediately must swing body to side and get that leg up the ledge.

Some times, there is this trough in front of the wall. Must never get in there to jump, otherwise wont make it. :embrass: :(

If you can do pull-ups... low wall is never a problem lah :bsmilie: We should start another thread on SOC.. haha!!!

Just wondering... Anyone here going for the EOS day at East coast 17th june? I'm going with people from school expressly to try out the 1D Mk 3

Canon Shutterbug??????

I think I had better start a new tread for all these random rants... However, it's on the 17 june, 1300-1500h, SPECIFICALLY FOR EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTES BY INVITE ONLY, so please don't try to crash. I'm just asking if anyone else here is going for that event, but I think there are other sessions for the general public (not sure if invite is required).

that mean the PTI is very lenient nowadays...maybe i'm tall, low wall is not a issue but the monkey swing is terrible...tear off my palm skin...still remember saw the PTI kick those guys stomach after even they drop flat on the floor from the monkey swing...
