I was quite surprise Aik Seng Photo at Lucky Plaza pricing on their D800 & D800E also very reasonable. They had readily stocks.

Maybe they know that I am local ?

Guys u need to reserve if u want to buy them as wat d staff mentioned over the fone when me call them. They told me if me just come over the counter might be able to buy as they based on reserve listing.

Can try Orient Photo, Allan (Funan), Song brothers (Funan), Ms color. Cathay (peninsular) - fully snapped up...hv to reserve next shipment. All prices at tis shops are $2.9k nett. Body only.

quick questions from a Canon user thinking of switching

1. can the D600 act as a flash controller to control another flash?
2. does it have a single button to zoom in 100% on the focus point?
3. does nikon usually reduce the prices of new launches few months down the road?

1. Yes. The built in flash of the D600 can act in commander mode to wirelessly control other compatible flashes. The Nikon Creative Lighting System is extremely configurable & lets you control quite complex set ups relatively easily.

2. Yes. But in live view mode or during video it cannot keep up with fast moving subjects (according to the video review in this thread).

3. Nikon doesnt necessarily reduce prices, but the street prices do come down. Currently the camera is selling at a SGD 300 premium here compared to the US price. Wait for a few months & the local price will be closer to the US price.
