13/09/2012: Nikon announces D600 FF 24,3 mp

How much was it bro, I think can share in this open forum too :). I was quoted $2900, no freebies.

$2700 body alone with no freebies. Price inclusive of gst.................:)

You're prob right. For the serious sports shooters, D4 or D3s is prob the way to go. For the rest of us amateurs or hobbyist, having a faster fps will help when chasing over energetic kids during birthday parties.

Another thing is the ISO, with the D4 or D3s, you have no worry about low light.

Now, I am in a drama between a D4 & a D800E.

Actually no need for big headache here . If you want best
dynamic range with high iso capability = d800e
If you want high speed (fps) with high iso = d4 and or d3s
Check link below , infact base on dxomark result d800e has
A slight edge of iso performance over d4 ,

Where do you see that i say D600 is any worse ??? I'm just answering Jeremy1 regarding his dilemma choosing between D4 and D800E.

D600 btw is not tested yet .

Ops, for a moment I forgot the topic isn't about the D600. Sorry, sometimes I go off-topic.

NP , actually im also quite curious about D600 iso performance vs D700 .

if it (d600) does well (better then D700) with regards to its iso performance , it should and will win over lots of followers.

I saw the comparison at one european site. the direct comparisons. D600 performs better than D700 slightly. But so many hits on that site till it went down already..

Yeah I saw that too, it was tested just today they mentioned

quick questions from a Canon user thinking of switching

1. can the D600 act as a flash controller to control another flash?
2. does it have a single button to zoom in 100% on the focus point?
3. does nikon usually reduce the prices of new launches few months down the road?

thanks !

It has so many hits because there is so many so many D700 users (apart from others) who wants to see how their cam measure up .
But i still maintain my view that the price must be at least a thousand dollars or more lesser then D800 to be really attractive for both
upgrader from dx or D700 users (and some 5d2 users lol)

new cameras... don't come with freebies. that's the general rule

Sorry, I can't keep combing through all the replies to check if this was discussed (honestly not really interested in D600, just asking out of curiosity), but based on the pictures of the back of the camera, D600 does not have the VF curtain thing (that you can open and close shutter-like to block out light entering VF for long exposures) that is on the D700/D800?

TK foto already have stock but limited... i saw it on their FB page...
