Or I can get the 24-85vr kit and 85 1.8 first and then a sigma 70-200mm 2.8 when the year end bonus kicks in.

That's about $800 cheaper than a Nikon D800. Hmm...

800 different? Is those different worth the 800? better focus, better metering, bigger MP, slower FPS?? Hmmmm... (also)
I'm guessing the Nikon D600 will have a slight drop in price by Dec 2012.
Guess by Dec there will be promo for Christmas may be will have free gift as Nikon use to have promo during year end.

Guess by then those that bought now would have captured lovely images and all the important moments in their lives that's not worth the wait till year end.

$800 with D800 you have shutter speed of 1/8,000 and is Made In Japan. With $800 less on D600 you have half the shutter speed of 1/4,000 and is Made In Thailand (Siwadichap) The chose is yours. Happy Shopping![]()

Like I've mentioned before, no point having a big launch while you are not able to have stock.
Most here don't want to see the first unboxing of the D600 on youtube.
