That's about $800 cheaper than a Nikon D800. Hmm...

800 different? Is those different worth the 800? better focus, better metering, bigger MP, slower FPS?? Hmmmm... (also)

For me I only prefer the focus and metering. ^^

Well for 800$ i frankly prefer to go for D800/E

Well for the FPS with the battery grip it become faster than the D600 where as the D600 even with battery grip it stays at 5.5

I’m looking forward to upgrade to a full frame camera, but D600 isn’t at a reasonable low price to begin with. D700 maybe out of production soon or already have.
If D600 ISO & DR performance is a lot better than the D700, then I think it’s wiser to get the newer model for an amateur photographer who likes to shoot all kind of subjects like me.
Just my opinion.

I'm guessing the Nikon D600 will have a slight drop in price by Dec 2012.

Guess by then those that bought now would have captured lovely images and all the important moments in their lives that's not worth the wait till year end.

$800 with D800 you have shutter speed of 1/8,000 and is Made In Japan. With $800 less on D600 you have half the shutter speed of 1/4,000 and is Made In Thailand (Siwadichap) The chose is yours. Happy Shopping :-)

I'm reply to a quote with this message. If you have the cash you can get it even the D600 are sell it at RRP price. Like me I buy my D800 at $4,200 & My D4 at $9,000 cos I wish to be the 1st to try out the cam :-)

Quite a no brainer unless the margin is more then a $1000/+

I believe that most here are not happy with the current Nikon stock situation, the first batch will always be booked.

Like I've mentioned before, no point having a big launch while you are not able to have stock.

Most here don't want to see the first unboxing of the D600 on youtube.

I actually thought Nikon performed quite well this time, offering ready stock commercially within 5 days of announcement. Perhaps it is a simple case of allocation - Singapore may not be that significant a market to receive more stock.
