    Problem with Leica M6

    I own an M6 and it does not come with any locking mechanism to prevent the accidental pressing of the shutter.

    Plustek opticfilm scanners availability locally

    Hi all, I'm currently using the 7600i. Just like the say it's a great choice if you're only scanning 35mm negatives or slides so go for it.... it's quite satisfying, especially when you develop the B&W negatives as well. Here's a pic that I uploaded into Flickr today...

    Ilford HP5+ with Hoya Orange filter

    Hi Oliprolli, I got mine from Parisilk in Holland village. Plustek has a distributor in Singapore, but the price at Parisilk was slightly below relail whereas the distributor only sells at retail. You're right Yoricko, but this was also an experiment on my part to see what people think of...

    Ilford HP5+ with Hoya Orange filter

    Hi all, Need some advice. I've shot some pics on Ilford HP5+. 3 used a Hoya orange filter, 3 without. Each set were shot with different exposures (one stop difference). Could you tell me which image you prefer please? Trying to decide a work flow. Thanks...

    Newbie Starting film

    I started shooting B&W film recently. There's definitely a difference between self processed & self scanned film with those done at the shops. For once, I've to say DIY is clearly better.

    Using a 35mm Film SLR to take night photos

    Hi Jason, 1) As some other forumers have commented, flash photography does not work for landscapes at night, simply because the flash cannot light up the whole landscape. What you need is a tripod and long exposure. 2) unlike a digital SLR, the ISO for a film camera is determined by the...

    [ Opinion ] - Complimenting my DSLR with a PEN?

    Here's an alternative, go buy a second hand Nikon film camera. With an adaptor, you can use those lens on the EPL-1. That way, you can have 2 systems sharing the same lens :-).

    [ Opinion ] - Complimenting my DSLR with a PEN?

    I've a EPL-1 and a Canon 40D. Each have its uses. The Pen is a fun camera to use and frankly, the pic quality is great. Getting the adaptor is a great idea, especially if your lens have an aperture ring. You should be able to get the adaptors at Chiff or Camera Hospital. When I bought my Pen...

    Leica M9 + Non-Leica lens => "Cheap Out"??

    It's a legitimate question, because I asked myself the same question when toying with the idea of a M9. My maths was as follows. A roll of film costs about $5, and if you add processing and scanning, it'll come up to about $13 in total. So, you can safely say that the M9 body alone (at...

    Leica M9 + Non-Leica lens => "Cheap Out"??

    Let me suggest another alternative. For the price of an M9 body, why not get a M6 or M7 body with a second hand Leica lens? When you're ready, you can sell the body with little loss, and still have the use of the lens. Here's an interesting comparison between the M6 and M9. To me, it suggests...

    Manual Focus on EP1/EPL1

    I am not sure that you will be able to focus more accurately using the EVF. If you think about it, the EVF is much smaller than the LCD screen so if you view the same scene through both of them, the image in the LCD screen is much larger and should be easier to focus.

    leica lens on voigtlander body, or vice versa?

    I agree, get the leica lens. I use them, even on the Pen EPL-1 and even then, the quality shows
