I'm quite happy to shoot at 1600 iso on my 5D and will push it to 3200 if i want to get the shot without it being blurry.
It's still a great camera and I won't be upgrading until the 5D mkIII or 5D mkIV!
i have the 28mm f/1.8 and have found it to be a fantastic wide, low light prime.
it's also small enough to make my camera not look even bigger than it already is!
i had a 30D with 24-70L but it wasn't wide enough.
had a choice to either sell the 24-70 and buy a 17-55 or sell the 30D and buy a 5D.
sold the 30D and bought a 5D and never looked back! 5D + 24-70L is a killer combo for me.
i'd be happy to see canon enter the small camera market (not sure if i can call it 4/3, mini dslr, etc yet)
in fact, i'd be even more tempted to move to a smaller body. my gf has the e-p1 and it's fantastic!
i have a 28mm f/1.8 which i use a lot. i think it's a fantastic lens - comparable to the sigma 30mm f/1.4.
only diff is the extra 2/3 stop of light that the sigma brings in.
i have a portable hdd that has slots for cards to transfer but have not been using it since i got my netbook!
took my netbook around china and europe for two months last year and not only was able to back up my photos on its hdd, i was able to back up photos onto an external 320gb hdd and surf...
I can't remember if i've already said it (losing my mind and memory), but there are some features that i like and some which i think are unnecessary.
For me personally, the 5D still suits me better.
if it hasn't already been said, i love the inbuilt wireless speedlite controller. that's probably about the only thing i'm jealous of compared to my 5d body.
i don't think there is a lot of sense in worrying about what number it is, but how many digits there are.
general guide is single digit - pro body, double digit - semi pro, triple - consumer, quad - consumer
had my first play around with the e-p1 today and i have to say that it is brilliant at what it does. compact cameras can't touch it and low end dSLRs need to watch out as more lenses come out for it.
i'd get one in an instant if i had the extra money for it!
i've owned both. the sigma 30mm on my last body, the 30D and the canon 28mm on my current 5D.
both are good lenses but i feel that the sigma was a tad sharper wide open.
that being said, i use my 28mm a lot on my 5D - maybe even more than my 24-70 mainly because of its portability.
