Yes, can BBB the ZE 50F1.4 when it is out later...

zeiss only have electronic circuitry in the ZE mount type, probably to control the aperture, not too sure abt AF, maybe not.

other mounts.. ZF, ZK.. ZM.. no electronics

Photobum : any predictions on a digital nikon rangefinder ?

I don't think Nikon will go back to manufacturing any rangefinder cameras again. Panasonic Lumix (which has a long-term relationship with Leica) maybe, but not Nikon or Canon.

The next big thing will probably be interchangeable digital backs on DSLRs and an in-camera version of Photoshop using touch-screen technology. Meaning, users can now tweak their images within their cameras; no computer or laptop is required.

haha, I was advising Hanzo to wait for the ZE mounts instead of buying ZF CZs...

For myself, I have 4 ZFs (35, 50, 50 Makro & 85)...can attest that 50 makro is definitely :thumbsup:.

this is the key reason why I am jumping ship to Nikon soon...to make full use of my Zeiss and for CLS...:thumbsup:

given 21MP EOS 5D II just came out at MSRP USD 2699 = SGD 3900. on the street, it would be approx sing 3200-3300, I'm sure Nikon gonna slash price on D700 to near SGD 3K.

5D II expected shipping Oct. So D3&D700 slash price post-photokina ? Cos D3x out in Mar 09. So Nikon got to start clearing stock, lighten inventory in Christmas, the world's shopping season.

I just received my Nikon D700 today ^^
so happy, with D700 and D3 on my hand, it's a perfect combo for travelling or for serious work.

the 25 f2.8's got a super close min focus distance... at 17 cm.. if you try it out in reality its abt 5-6 cm infront of the lens only..

Have been tempted by Zeiss lenses for quite some time liao but feel it is quite painful to spend a huge sum of money on manual lenses. Subscribed to Digitallyod and hopefully will not be poisoned deeper... :dunno:
