I'm organising another MO for the DSLRx adapters.
See this MO4 thread if u're interested in getting the adapter.

some of them treat you VERY badly. Just laugh it off. They boss you around like their servant. It just goes to show the low social status Singaporeans accord to pro-photographers. :dunno:

Know what you mean, kena many times before. Once my fren (working at a press conference n wanted me to take some pix of her at work to show her family overseas), so i where I was sitting, took out my 300D (silver body wif kit lens), b4 changing to 70-200mm L; one press fotographer saw and went "Hoho!" very loudly and pulled out his 1Ds Mark II.... Honestly i felt belittled but well... :D He probably mistook that wif such entry level gear I actually dared to do free lance... But got some good shots of my fren, so its ok...

Looking into the flektogon/Jena M42 range, cheaper... U said buy cheap CZ. Hehe seems the whole world is after CZ, no cheap ones liao.

Some months ago, the 50 f1.7 goes for below US$80 on ebay. Now it can easily go above US$100!

Then again, I've recently sold my brand new 35-70mm with a lost (paying for the shipping charges) and then bought the same lens in mint condition for US$350 less!!! :)

A Crystalized the moment, Weekd. Nice action shot. Can see its not your son... :)

I will freak out if it is him!!!!

The CZ 25mm seems to be underrated by many.
This lens has very well controlled in terms of CA and flare!

I see no CA nor flare in the following image:

Try not to get the Zeiss Jena 28/ 29mm lenses... User feedback is that they're not that good..

For those of u who had the DSLRx adapters, hold on to it especially if u have the RED color adatper!

I've just checked with Jorge and found that he is not making any more adapters for now. Seems that he has some problem with the machine shop and it is too much of a hassel for him to handle.

I've offered some of u the RED adapters if u're getting your 2nd one. I'll keep it for u until the end of this week. (I can easily sell them above for above US$115).

Thanks weekh, got the red one from u.
Got adaptor but no len now looking for a wide one for the 1Ds.
Welcome any input. Thanks in advance.

Thanks. I'm thinking of the Flektogon 20mm MC mount ;p

Where is a good place for lens cleaning?

Just received a CZ 50mm f1.7 lens from Ebay and was screwed. Lens was very mint but the glass was very dirty. Almost wanted to sell it away. Then realised that it cost only $35 to send it for cleaning. So I'm keeping it!
So this is one aspect that u guys can consider when u're searching for the scarce CZ lenses.

Hi Guys,
Has anyone tried using the CZ 50 f1.4 on a 20D or any Canon DSLR? I find it difficult to focus to get a sharp image. Any tips on how I can get a sharp image?

This is considered one of the best...

This one is out of focus...(slow shutter speed not the cause) just find that it very difficult to focus without any focus aid.

I've been using the CZ 50 f1.4 with !Ds. Although I've the split focusing screen, I find it not pratical for such wide aperture at close range. With the split focusing screen, u have to place the subject in dead centre. And when u recompose, the focus will be out. For such situation, (usually I'm taking portrait), I'll not use the split focusing screeen. Instead, I'll just compose and make sure the eye lashes are pin sharp (luckily I still have perfect eyesight).

Hrmm.. I'm gonna need to get a Contax split + microprism screen for my Eos A2 (Eos 5).. Anyone knows where I can get one?

Hi Wee thanks for the adapter....it's quality stuff. Strongly recommended for anyone who wants to try CZ lens on EOS.

I though I have perfect eye sight too ;P haha...I guess I just have to try shooting at a longer range and see the results. By the way, how did you get the split focusing screen? It is part of 1Ds? Pardon my ignorance :)

I ordered this from BH photo http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=12592&is=REG

Don't really find it useful for close range at big aperture. Not as bright as the original screen.

Which is your favourite CZ lens?
For me, it is the CZ 28mm f2.8.
The optics is really very very good and is relatively cheap.
IMO, this is a must-have lens if u're using CZ on your EOS body.
