Zeiss Lens on EOS

I was using the 550EX flash and cam was set to M model. The dull colour that u see on the Canon might be due to inaccurate exposure. ( Not sure if this is due to the lens or the flash as I have shot a series and change lenses off and on and the results here is a good representation of my finds).

But the bokeh part should be quite conclusive.
Also heard that the Zeiss lens produces less noise in shadow area.. yet to verify this claim.

2nd hand price of CZ. Guys is it worth it? Another thing is that I am not too
sure abt the AE and MM difference. JUst wanna known whether if there is an
optical difference( glass, coating, Materials etc)

I only know that most of the AE are the ones are those that were produced by germany while the MM ones are mostly by japan. Most collectors go for the germeny made ziess lens, they are believed have more "value" than the japan made counterparts.

If i remember correctly, I bought my CZ 28mm/2.8 (new) at around $600++ from Cathay Photo 9 years ago. The 2nd hand Zeiss lens prices have drop quite a bit in recent year. I think $350 is worth it if the condition is good. This lens is very SHARP!!! ;p

lens on EOS. They are abt SG150 and the Lecia on SG200. Had any of you tried
and are there better than camera quest or nolvafex ones?

are you toking abt mr wong of fotograhic at lucky chinatown? If I am not wrong, his contact person for his stock of adapter should be the similar guy which i found on ebay and if i am correct, this ebay guy is from marcau and not hk. I bought one of the adapter from him, ziess to eos, comparing the two, wee's mo from dslrx and mr wong's from the ebay guy, built wise, wee's is better but in term of mounting conveniency and mounting accuracy, mr wong's one is more accurate, at least when using his adapter, the "center alignment" red dot indicator on the lens barrel is always at the centre whereas dslrx one is slightly offseted to the right when lens barrel is facing you. I dunnoe yet, just got the dslrx adapter from wee this evening and followed the instruction on dslrx to mount the lens and found out that it has this offset problem but if I am correct, this shouldn't be a big issue as it should not affect the accuracy, focusing or sharpness of the lens( hope i am right haha). Tried the dslrx adapter on a couple of my lenses and found out that it cannot be fitted onto a vivitar 28mm lens, the fitting of the adapter seems to be a big too small for this lens even though it is a contax\yashica mount.

Recently sold my EF 35 f1.4L and now I'm itching for the big f stop again.
So got a 2nd hand CZ 35 f1.4 at a much lower price than the L lens.

Cropped and below 100%:

First impression: Pretty hard to use manul focus on moving subjects at f1.4. The Canon L lens will be better for the job. Otherwise this lens seems to be very similar to the L lens. CA seems to be well controlled. And I love the paintary bokeh produced by the big f stop on a wide angle lens.

AE and MM apply to Contax bodies only. AE can only be used for Aperture Priority or Manual. MM allows for Program and Shutter Priority.
