X20 thread

So it was the super flimsy tripod? :bsmilie: That's good enough to mount the X20 anyways. I'm still torn between the X20 or RX100 MKII.

I tried both the x20 and RX100MKII.
Is a VF important for u ?

Usability wise x20 wins flat in ergonomic/menu interface and VF.
RX1ooII wins flat in AF speed and definitely low light performance for just a quickie comparison.

And if u r the type who has gotten used to a manual zoom ring , u gonna have a bad time with the RX

Wait. In AF speed the X20 fares worse? The X10 that i tried has extremely fast AF, Better than the original RX100. And the RX100 II focuses at the same speed. So that means that the X20 actually dropped specs

I started my journey into Fuji with the X10, kinda addicted to the X-es haha. Both are excellent cameras.

Sorry, my bad; should have made it clearer and phrased my 4th sentence more clearly. I was comparing low light performance - where the X20 is at a disadvantage when compared to the RX100II. I brought both on oversea trips all the way hence I'm not making a conclusion based on a 10 min playtime at the shops. I kinda struggled with X20 in low light quite often (ok, probably due to my lack of skill too)

In good lighting conditions, nope - the x20 was always more than enough to satisfy my needs. The OVF & info-overlay is by far the best I've used; no complaints - full stop.

again, do try out the RX100II if u decide to get it; go to the Sony at Isetan Wisma Atria :) Ergonomics was an issue for me & coupled with the lack of a proper manual zoom ring; if not for these 2 reasons , the Sony would have been a keeper.

If Fuji can produce a camera with the low light/high ISO performance of the RX100II and keep to X20's body/button layout design, that to me will be close to perfection. (k, i'm dreaming i know)

Nope you're not dreaming. Dreaming is a troll in kopitiam :bsmilie:

Hi guys, just curious, are there any promotions ongoing for the X20?

From what I gather, SRP is still set at $899, but what is the street price for it now?

Thanks :)

Just came across this on the Fuji SG FB page:

Just came across this on the Fuji SG FB page:

Improved promotion compared to when I got mine.

Additional $20 Taka voucher and camera case. Useful gifts ; must say Fuji makes e effort to give useful freebies.

It seems they are targeting also those who are looking to get a "better" compact than they alr have or if they use phone camera, with the giving of free tripod and dry box

But i would have expected those freebies for the X100S and below, not the X-E1 AND X-PRO1. Makes no sense, seeing as those who would actually go for those 2 models would be those who are long-term users most likely to have those items.

The promotions are too similar. Someone isn't doing their job properly :bsmilie:

I thought the x20 gifts are to entice newcomers, didnt notice about the others. Haha

Recently upgraded from an X10 and am really happy with it.
Since I'm only shooting jpg, I don't have the hassle with RAW from the X-trans.
This is basically OOC

Glad for u :) was very pleased with all the improvements when I upgraded to the x20 from x10 too.

Fuji colors are always a plus factor for me, similar to what Oly gives :)

Yea the colour is pleasing and output is good enough without edit which is a plus point for casual shooting

Has been contemplating between RX100 II and X20 for a week. Eventually bought a silver X20 with original hood+filter set yesterday with lots of freebies due to upcoming COMEX.

It is indeed a retro beauty with outstanding IQ.

actually ergonomics wise, i preferred the x20 over the RX100 II. :) The updated OVF is great to have and use.

Apart from the outlooks and functionality of X20, the ergonomics is another critical factor for me as RX100 II makes me felt like i am going to drop it anytime due to my big hands lol.

The X20 front OVF is getting smudged alot by my finger when i zoomed and this is something which i have to adjust my angle during zooming.

By the way, do you guys find that the OVF is blurry at times, be it overlays or scene.

Big hands, small camera, sure won't get used to holding it, I prefer to use the EVF at the back, much more info on top of the approximate framing provided by the OVF.

Same feeling with regards to the RX here too. I find it too small to use at times.
Using the OVF , I never had issues of it being blurry ah. If it worries u , better send it in for a check.

Find it blurry too especially after zoom in.
