X20 thread

hi guys,

I've shot around 400 images with my x20 so far. Im shooting mostly in RAF format and use LR for post processing.

What I've noticed is that the RAF files when viewed in LR has a very strong greenish tint with "as shot" WB settings, often requiring me to bump tint up by +10 or more. However the images look fine on the camera LCD. I did a basic in-camera processing from RAF to jpeg Provia and the WB turns out nicely. This leads me to believe that somehow LR is not reading the WB values correctly. anyone else having this issue?

dun trust your cameras lcd

I have learned to not trust the camera LCD. Sorry if i didn't mention earlier. I am viewing from my calibrated monitor and what I'm saying is that my in-camera converted jpeg looks a lot more realistic than the RAF file with "as shot" WB setting.

I dont ever notice this with my canon 5d raw files.

most camera LCDs look better than computer screens.

please read above. It is a legit white balance issue with LR that is forcing me to shoot with a grey card. Somehow LR is not reading the WB values correctly with RAF files.
I also notice the tint value is permanently at +7 in almost all the raw file shots

joined the family today of owning a Fuji X20! will follow-up with some pictures soon.

hi hi, how do u manage battery life in X20 ? I realised one battery is just enough for a morning walkabout shoot..

I've 3 batteries :)
Batt life on x20 isn't something to be proud of.

Some tips to prolong per charge.

Set IS to turn on during shooting only.
Set shortest inactivity sleep timer.
Use ovf where possible.
Set af mode to af-s
Set LCD brightness one notch below halfway.

hello, anybody know what is the current price for x20? any promos? thanks!

I spent a month shooting with the X20. Can check out the following link for some of my impressions and photos :- A month with the Fuji X20 Definitely an improvement over the X10 but not significant enough for me to upgrade.

The X20 functions like a full featured DSLR in good lighting. Nothing much to fault. In dim lighting, the faults start to show up. Anything above ISO3200 will be quite grainy and "artistic". The lack of a bulb mode also restrict users from doing long exposure shoots. That being said, I luv this camera :-)

with a thumb-grip, it makes holding a lot more secure for me.

Anyone shoots raw and use photoshop cs6? Any issue with the compatibility of cs6 with this or need to download some addon?
