If i remember correctly u can half press the shutter button for a sec or 2 to turn it back on. Or just enable "Quick Start" in the menu.

my point is 17mm is a legitimate newer lens released in the same year as the fuji 35mm. why arent you comparing the 35mm to this lens? instead you want to insist in an old 20mm lens which just have a facelift..
why did i choose 20mm?.. cause i wanted to illustrate that not all lens are fast to focus on all cameras (not limited to EM1 or XT1), even the world's fastest AF camera.. and

If you recieved the free 50-230 and cannot find a real use for it. Don't throw it away yet. It works great with the Raynox 150 and 250 close up lenses for extreme macros. Now all we need is a wireless TTL flash and it's insect hunting season!
