X-T1

Yep. No response whatsoever. Just a black screen. Like it's just off. So I simply switch off and on again.

If i remember correctly u can half press the shutter button for a sec or 2 to turn it back on. Or just enable "Quick Start" in the menu.

Does not always work. First thing i do is to half press shutter. Really depends how long the camera has been "asleep" for. And yes quick start is enabled. Happens to all my friends who are using x series cameras.

Greetings everybody.

My last proper camera was Minolta DYNAX 5i with 28-200 Tamron. Back in 1996. Haha.
I want to get back into this hobby.
Please help decide. It's either XE-2 with kit or the XT-1 with kit.

just got it today, I tried it out a few times at the showroom before buying, so didn't really have any big disappointments.

honestly AF wise it feels nothing has changed much since the x100s. it might look like an EM1, but responsiveness is more like an A7. Under specific conditions the AF might be "fastest in the world", but on average in most situations it is not. I can say that on average, the EM1 might be able to make that claim.

fortunately, the big evf is nice, and so is the tilting screen and magnesium body, and the image quality is as good as it was on previous x-trans cams, which leaves me nothing to complain about really.

I was in the same undecided state. I wanted the XE2 because of the pop up flash, smaller weight and size. I shot with a Leica for a few years and always liked the rangefinder style. The other features didn't matter to me. I ended up purchasing the XT1 because the EVF is really great. Size and weight difference is negligible. I gave up the pop up flash for an excellent EVF. I can live with that.

Have fun deciding.

my point is 17mm is a legitimate newer lens released in the same year as the fuji 35mm. why arent you comparing the 35mm to this lens? instead you want to insist in an old 20mm lens which just have a facelift..

why did i choose 20mm?..

cause i wanted to illustrate that not all lens are fast to focus on all cameras (not limited to EM1 or XT1), even the world's fastest AF camera..
and

the test was conducted using 14mm. we should all be used to this claims. it's the same for all products. they have the worlds fastest af for now.

*5 Fastest AF speed among digital cameras equipped with an APS-C or larger sensor. Measurement conducted by Fujifilm research based on CIPA guidelines using the X-T1 equipped with XF14mmF2.8 R lens in High Performance mode as of January 2014.

Thanks to Bernard and ERRZ.
I know this might be an inappropriate question by a CS newbie. I would like to ask for JB shop recommendations (Fuji X). Please PM if you can share with me some valuable info.

Let me know if u got it from jb. Singapore cameras are getting to be most expensive soon. I hv not bought one lens or camera since my d7000....

GST adds a significant amount to the cost of stuff and getting things done here. It's strange when visitors find it worthwhile to buy here and we have to visit other places get the same deal.

Words spoken by a true Singaporean to another. 7% can add up to quite a lot alone.

I never understood why 10% Svc charge is imposed when this sum never goes to the eaterie's customer service stuff.

They come from a place with 20% GST (Europe), we go to places with 0% GST (HK,etc)

If you recieved the free 50-230 and cannot find a real use for it. Don't throw it away yet. It works great with the Raynox 150 and 250 close up lenses for extreme macros. Now all we need is a wireless TTL flash and it's insect hunting season!
